SACRAMENTO (CBS13/AP) - Cheerio! A British bank bandit is on the loose... or at least a man using a horrendous English accent as his only disguise.
Perhaps the most amazing part, the man walked right out of two Calif. banks with stolen cash in hand.
FBI agents say the man had a goatee and wore sunglasses as he robbed banks in Davis and Sacramento, Calif. in April, but he is most known for butchering the Queen's English.
When he is not trying to hide his voice, the FBI says that he is polite enough to stand in line and wait his turn. But once at the counter, he demands cash with his "laughably bad British accent."
"We've all heard them," FBI agent Steve Dupree said of the accent to CBS 13. "They're easily recognized and his fits that description."
The FBI is now asking for the public's help in putting the faux-British bandit behind bars.
