Challenge Games Gets $10 Million For Online Roleplaying Games

Challenge Online Games, the developer of online fantasy game Duels and the new fantasy baseball and card collecting game Baseball Boss, has received $10 million in its second round of funding. The round is being led by Globespan Capital Partners with participation from previous investor Sequoia Capital as well as existing investors.

The Austin, Texas-based company is focusing on casual in-browser games which are free to play, and are meant to be played in 5-15 minute increments. It gets revenues from premium subscriptions and virtual good trading. The company will use the money to expand into Asia, launch new games and on the lookout to acquire rivals.
