CES 2013: LG announces sale date for $12,000 55-inch OLED TV

LG Electronics announced Monday details of its highly-anticipated 55-inch OLED TV, which comes with a hefty price tag.

The company made the announcement at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

LG's OLED TV is about 4 millimeters thick, weighs less than 22 pounds and starts at about $12,000. Its 55-inch screen features a four-color pixel system, color refiner and infinite contrast ratio -- all to enhance the TV's stunning display.

The OLED TV is already available for sale in South Korea and will be available in the United States in March.
