Cat-astrophe Averted

It seemed to be a hopeless situation for Coupe.

The cat couldn't be cajoled from his perch 50 feet up a tree, despite the fact that he had been up there for 12 days.

Virginia Johnson was worried about her feline friend, and she and her neighbors had tried everything they could think of to rescue him. The fire department couldn't get up that high, and without food or water, Johnson feared Coupe would be running out of his nine lives.

To the rescue came Ryan Hamilton, an expert - not on cats, but on trimming trees. Getting to the cat before he got away was a challenge, and precautions were taken by holding a blanket out in case Coupe fell. But the very thirsty cat was caught and safely rescued.
