Attorneys for the Florida mother charged with murdering her 2-year-old daughter were expected to continue calling witnesses on Saturday.

But after meeting with lawyers from both sides in the morning, Judge Belvin Perry announced that court would adjourn until Monday. He said a legal matter had come up.

"Both sides concur that a legal issue has arisen unrelated to the legal issue we talked about this morning ... that would necessitate us recessing for the day," Perry said according to CBS affiliate WKMG.

Anthony's attorneys expect to wrap up their case by mid-week. Prosecutors will then need a day or two for rebuttal witnesses. That means jurors could start deliberations as early as a week from now.

Anthony, 25, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and could face the death penalty if convicted of that charge. Her defense attorneys claim Caylee Anthony accidentally drowned in the family's swimming pool.

The Casey Anthony case was recently reported on by "48 Hours Mystery."
