Canadian radio host arrested on sexual assault charge

TORONTO - Two senior Canadian Broadcasting Corp. managers are taking leave of absences just weeks after a former prominent radio host was arrested for sexual assault.

Jian Ghomeshi was charged in November with four counts of sexual assault. The CBC fired Ghomeshi in October after media reports of sexual assault allegations against the star first emerged. Ghomeshi, the host of "Q," a popular radio show on culture that was heard on many public stations in the United States, has denied the allegations, saying he had consensual "rough sex" with women.

The CBC announced Monday head of radio Chris Boyce and Todd Spencer, executive director of human resources, are taking leaves. The CBC did not say why. Both central in dealing with Ghomeshi when CBC was investigating allegations against him over the summer, are taking leaves.
