 Monday sees a court hearing in Los Angeles for singer Chris Brown, following his arrest on assault charges in Washington, D.C., while on probation for the 2009 assault on his former girlfriend, the pop star Rihanna.


Tuesday is Wright Brothers Day, the 110th anniversary of Wilbur and Orville Wright's first heavier-than-air flight at Kitty Hawk, N.C.

On Wednesday, guitarist Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones celebrates his 70th birthday.

On Friday, President and Mrs. Obama, and daughters Sasha and Malia, travel to Hawaii for a holiday break.


And on Saturday, 14 costumes from the film version of "The Sound of Music" go on auction, and are expected to fetch up to $240,000.
