Mexican prosecutors say Bruce Beresford-Redman, a former producer of "Survivor" and co-creator of the show "Pimp My Ride," is a suspect in the slaying of his wife, Monica Beresford-Redman. Her body was discovered April 8 in a sewer at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun two days after the producer said she had failed to return from a shopping trip.
According to CNN, the e-mails were sold to RadarOnline by a close friend of Monica Beresford-Redman. The e-mails, if legitimate, show her marriage crumbling as a result of a long-term affair that Bruce Beresford-Redman was having with another woman, but that Monica Beresford-Redman had gone on the trip to Mexico in an attempt to save her marriage.
"I told you that I would not leave my family," Bruce allegedly wrote in an email to his mistress. "Then that changed and I told you that I didn't feel I would be happy without you and that I was going to leave my family so that we could be together."
The gossip site published the e-mails on Thursday, a day after Monica's mother, Ely Burgos, gave copies of e-mails to Mexican investigators, according to CNN.
Bruce Beresford-Redman has not publicly commented on those reports. He has been barred from leaving Mexico until the investigation is complete.
"The killer is in Cancun," Burgos said. "Be careful, he is among you. He is cold and cruel." She did not use a name.
