Biden Racks Up Iowa Endorsements

(AP Photo)
The Associated Press is reporting that Joe Biden has endorsements from 10 Iowa state legislators, which puts him in a second-place tie with Barack Obama among Democrats in the Iowa endorsement battle. (Hillary Clinton is in first.) Biden is still far behind in the Iowa polls, but he argues that the endorsements have a real significance because Iowa is a state where organization, and voter motivation, is crucial. University of Iowa political science professor Dave Redlawsk says we should view the notion of a Biden boomlet skeptically, however. ``We can easily overstate the importance of endorsements,'' he told the AP. ``Voters, particularly Iowa caucus-goers, are relatively independent folks and pride themselves at looking at the details themselves.''
