(CBS) Bette Midler showed why she's called a diva this week when she took to Twitter to accuse Lady Gaga of stealing her mermaid in a wheelchair routine.

At a concert last week in Australia, Gaga made her alter-ego Yuyi a mermaid and put her in a wheelchair on stage. That's when Midler accused the pop singer of stealing her Delores Delgado routine.

"Dear @ladygaga if you think a mermaid in a wheelchair seems familiar-it's because it is!," Midler tweeted. "You can see it on youtube 24/7-with ME performing it"

A few w hours later, Midler followed up with this: "Dear @ladygaga I've been doing singing mermaid in a wheelchair since 1980-You can keep the meat dress and the firecracker tits-mermaid's mine."

Lady Gaga has tweeted several times since then but has not responded to Midler. Perhaps that's why the "Divine Miss M" held out what some are calling this olive branch: "@ladygaga, let's drink this over at the Emmys in September. Fabulous mermaids can coexist!"
