Bennett Hails Judge's Decision

President Clinton's attorney, Robert Bennett, hailed a judge's ruling to throw out Paula Jones' lawsuit against the president as a "very strong and very powerful opinion."

U.S. District Judge Susan Webber Wright in Little Rock, Ark., informed lawyers in the case Wednesday afternoon that while Jones' claims described offensive conduct, it did not meet the standard for sexual harassment.

"The plaintiffs' allegations fall far short of the rigorous standards for establishing a claim of outrage," she said.

Bennett had argued that Mrs. Jones' case was motivated by politics and had failed to show she was harmed. "I think we were very strong on the facts and on the law," Bennett said outside his law offices Wednesday.
