(CBS News) Photography enthusiasts will soon have another camera to lust after.

According to Engadget, Apple's senior vice president of design Sir Jonathan "Jony" Ive will design a version of the Leica M camera.

Ives is famously known for designing all things "i" at Apple. Everything from the first iMac to the iPad has been overseen by Ive. The British native's first design project was iMac and has been credited for the clean, modern look of Apple products since.

It was rumored that Ives was supposed to announce the partnership at photography tradeshow Photokina in Cologne, Germany, but could not attend. Instead, the partnership was announced by the company's owner, Dr. Andreas Kaufmann.

The Ive-designed Leica M may not come cheap, but it will reportedly be auctioned off for charity. The recently announced Leica M camera will be available in 2013, but there are no details on the limited edition Ive version of the camera.
