Amber Baker case: Suspects named after pregnant mom found slain near unharmed infant

FRESNO, Calif. – Police say they suspect that the pregnant woman fatally shot in the same room as her four-month old may have been killed by her boyfriend, reports CBS affiliate KGPE.

Amber Baker, 20, was shot in her bedroom. Initial reports indicated the child was in the bed with her when she was shot, but the Fresno Bee reports that Fresno Police Chief Jim Dyer said the child was in the crib at the time of the crime. The child was unharmed.

On Wednesday afternoon, Chief Dyer released photos of three young men who were allegedly inside the apartment at the time of the killing. Only two are suspected in Baker’s murder including her boyfriend Isaac Razo, 17, and Gabriel Garza, 18.

After the killing, Amber’s friends and family came together for a candlelight vigil. Her sister didn’t know who could do such a thing.

“We just don’t understand why someone would take her life in the middle of the night while she was asleep or with my nephew there. We don’t know,” said Baker’s sister, Katie Martin.

Anyone with information should call Fresno Police Department or Crimestoppers at 559-498-STOP.
