Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula vows to United States "war between us is not over"
(CBS News) The Yemeni terror group al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula vowed to continue plotting against the United States, saying in a week marked by the death of one of its senior leaders and the revelation of an upgraded underwear bomb foiled by a Saudi mole that "war between us is not over."
The group, known as AQAP, made the comments in a statement dated Wednesday, a day before airstrikes in Yemen killed at least seven Qaeda militants, including the group's senior armament member, known as al-Galadi, according to The Associated Press.
The statement was the group's first since the killing of Fahd al-Quso, the terror network's senior operations leader who was linked to the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole. Al-Quso was killed in an airstrike Sunday in Yemen. The statement doesn't mention the Saudi mole or the upgraded underwear bomb that was revealed this week that the mole provided to the United States.

A translation of the AQAP statement shows that the group appears to make reference to a quote al-Quso reportedly gave a Yemeni reporter in February: "The war didn't end between us and our enemies. Wait for what is coming."
In Wednesday's statement, the group says: "And to America: We remind you with what our Shaykh Fahd Al-Quso, may Allah have mercy on him: 'War between us is not over and the days are pregnant.'"
CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reported that the Saudi mole also provided the United States with information on al-Quso's whereabouts.
