ABC not pressing charges against Chris Brown

(CBS) ABC has reportedly declined to press charges against R&B singer Chris Brown, after he allegedly trashed his dressing room after an appearance on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday.

Brown reportedly smashed a window and stormed out of the studio shirtless after "GMA" co-host Robin Roberts questioned him about about legal issues surrounding his 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ on Wednesday that the NYPD will not be investigating the incident because "there is no complaining victim."

This morning on "GMA," Roberts told viewers that she was "shocked like everyone else" when Brown stormed out, and that she discussed the assault questions with the 21-year-old before Tuesday's interview.

"Anytime we have a guest here on the program, we let them know ahead of time the subject matter, the topics that we're going to discuss and we, even right before the interview, I said that to Chris and I was shocked just like everyone else was," she said.

Roberts also invited the singer back on the show, adding, "We wish [Brown] the absolute best and...we've extended the invitation to him and I sure hope he takes us up on it, because we'd love to have another chat with him."

Back in 2009, Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community service. A Judge recently eased Brown's restraining order on Rihanna, which prevented him from having any contact with her after improvement was made in his probation process.

"He's been trying to move on from his past and focus on his music, and he's finally putting out an album," a source told People magazine. "Why can't we focus on that? He makes great music and he loves his fans. He's a good kid."

MTV reports that the eruption on "GMA" will not affect his scheduled performance on "Dancing with the Stars" next week, but it's unknown whether the tantrum will affect his probation.
