A surprising American discovery at the Vatican
VATICAN CITYHighly-skilled workers at the Vatican have made an amazing discovery.
They were cleaning a fresco and -underneath the soot -found what is believed to be the first European depiction of native Americans.
It was painted two years after Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas.
It is consistent with Columbus' description of the natives he encountered.
