5 Ore. family members dead in suspected murder-suicide

(CBS/KOIN) SALEM, Ore. - A father is suspected of committing a murder-suicide after his wife and three young children were found dead in a house fire in Salem early Tuesday morning, reports CBS affiliate KOIN.

The blaze was reported by a neighbor at approximately 5:30 a.m., according to Salem police spokesperson Lt. Dave Okada. Firefighters found the four bodies while battling the fire.

Investigators believe the victims died as a result of homicidal violence, Salem police said.

At approximately 11 a.m. Tuesday, a man identified as the female victim's husband was found dead in a vehicle in Cottage Grove, some 75 miles south of Salem.

The names of the victims have not been released. Autopsies are pending. Agents with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Oregon State Police have joined the investigation.
