3 jets get stuck at snowy Detroit Metro Airport

ROMULUS, Mich. -- Three planes have gotten stuck at snowy Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

According to airport spokesman Michael Conway, crews used trucks to push or pull two regional Delta jets out of the snow Wednesday morning. Passengers were on board.

Delta told CBS News that one of the jet's front tires is stuck in the snow and the other jet's wing clipped a snow bank and is stuck as a result.

WDIV-TV reports a corporate jet also got stuck in the snow when it mistakenly turned onto a fire access lane rather than a taxiway.

Snow has been steadily falling for hours in southeastern Michigan, creating slippery surfaces and white-out conditions.

Conway told WWJ-AM that "blinding snow" was "coming down really intensely" at the airport in suburban Romulus.
