Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Taco Bell

Last Updated Feb. 3 at 10:30 p.m. ET

It's time for Super Bowl XLVII, and fans know what that means -- advertisers squaring off for television's biggest audience with their boldest, funniest and most memorable commercials.

Such is the anticipation that many advertisers post teaser ads for their commercials online, to build buzz before Sunday's broadcast.

And while many sports fans will be Monday-morning quarterbacking about whatever the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens do (or don't do) on the field, there will also be plenty of Monday-morning quarterbacking about what ads did or didn't work.

Click through our gallery of commercial and preview videos.

And then click here to take our poll and tell us, which ad wins as this year's most memorable Super Bowl commercial?

Hyundai Santa Fe "Epic Playdate"

If you're stuck on what to do on a family outing, it helps if you're accompanied by the psychedelic rock band The Flaming Lips (here singing "The Sun Blow Up Today") in one of three ads by the automaker.

Hyundai "Stuck"

We've all been there -- but at least Hyundai's Sonata Turbo can get you past such road obstacles.

Hyundai "Team"

Hyundai's third ad is their funniest -- though it leaves revenge in the mind of the beholder. The commercial as aired ended on a more pointed note.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Doritos "Goat 4 Sale"

A fan-made finalist of Doritos' "Crash the Super Bowl" contest.

Doritos "Fashionista Daddy"

What loving fathers won't do for a certain snack.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Anheuser-Busch aired six commercials for a variety of brands, including Budweiser, Bud Light, Budweiser Black Crown and Beck's Sapphire. Although several teasers were posted online, the beer company did release two ads in advance.

Budweiser "Clydesdales - The Brotherhood"

The beermaker's latest ad based on its iconic Clydesdales features a foal just 7 days old during the commercial's shoot.

Beck's Sapphire "Serenade"

That's some smooth-talking fish, crooning a version of Chet Faker's "No Diggity."

Bud Light "Journey"

Stevie Wonder stars in this tale of New Orleans, voodoo, and the passion of true football fans.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Audi: "Prom (Worth It)"

The automaker posted its Super Bowl ad online with three alternate endings; you had to sit through the big game to find out which version "won" out.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Allstate "Mayhem"

It all starts with temptation, which leads to a fall, which leads to . . . NFL replacement reps?

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Cars.com "Wolf"

Yes, there can be too much drama in car purchase negotiations, especially when that drama is baring its very sharp teeth.

Cars.com "Dramatized Focus Group"

Teaser

As sure as there are Super Bowl advertisers, there are Super Bowl ad focus groups. In this one a man makes what might be called a Hail Mary pass.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

God of War: Ascension "From Ashes"

"Kratos swore an oath in blood to the gods, and ended up losing everything he ever loved." A very cinematic, live-action ad for the video game, more intriguing than most actual movie trailers.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Century 21 "Wedding"

What's a young bride to do, when marriage means co-habitation with parents? Call your real estate broker for a starter home (and not a dry eye in the house).

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Coca-Cola "Mirage"

This desert race to reach a cola mirage is a battle supreme among cowboys, Vegas showgirls, and extras from "The Road Warrior."

Coca-Cola posted a teaser online and asked viewers to vote for which they wanted to see claim the cool refreshing beverage at the end.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Fiat "Sisters"

The Fiat 500L is "very family friendly," though "family values" may not exactly be what this spot is portraying.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Axe Apollo "The Lifeguard"

Few professions are as important as lifeguard, or as apt to impress a damsel in distress.

The ad links to Axe's sweepstakes in which one lucky person will win a trip to space aboard a private spacecraft.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Lincoln "#SteertheScript"

Lincoln's commercial for their MKZ was written based on tweets sent in to Jimmy Fallon.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Best Buy "Asking Amy"

The star of "Parks & Recreation" is no slouch when making queries of the tech store's blue-shirted staff.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Ram Trucks "Farmer"

Images of farmers are set against narration by the late radio commentator Paul Harvey, creating an evocative portrait of the stock of America.

Touching, to be sure, but the ad is a remake of a viral 2011 YouTube video created by Farms.com, which is now working with Chrysler to benefit Future Farmers of America.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Gildan Activewear "Getaway"

In what might be a nod to "The Hangover," a man awakens from what was obviously a night to remember.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

GoDaddy.com "Fly the Danica Skies"

Teaser

Indy racer Danica Patrick applies lipstick (this is a GoDaddy.com ad, after all) and gets into the driver's seat - but what's with the epaulettes?

GoDaddy.com "YourBigIdea.co"

Ah, the only thing that could get in the way of an Internet entrepreneur is a doubting spouse -- and a failure to nab a web domain address in time.

GoDaddy.com "Perfect Match"

To be filed under science fiction? What happens when model Bar Refaeli kisses computer nerd "Walter," played by Jessie Heiman (dubbed the "World's Greatest Extra" for worming his way into so many movie scenes).

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Calvin Klein "Concept"

Model Matthew Terry shows off Calvin Klein Underwear's 360 degree seamless technology.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Kia "Hot Bots"

The car tire-kicker in this spot for Kia's Forte obviously never saw "Blade Runner," otherwise he'd know artificial humans are not to be taken lightly.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Kia "Space Babies"

It looks like a dream had by Michael Bay after he passes out at a day care center. But babies, cuddly animals and space travel sound like sure-fire ingredients for selling cars.

E-Trade "Save It"

While we're on babies, that talking tyke from E-Trade is back, dispensing financial advice.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Mercedes Benz "Soul"

To a wistful young man eyeing Mercedes Benz's CLA executive sedan, Willem Dafoe's Mephistophelean pact -- one's soul for a luxury car -- might seem like a good deal, but is it?

Mercedes Benz "Car Wash"

Recalling a scene from the '60s film "Cool Hand Luke," model Kate Upton washes the new Mercedes CLA in slow motion.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Milk Processor Education Program "Got Milk?"

Dwayne Johnson. a.k.a. The Rock, is a man with a mission, and he won't let bank robbers, ferocious animals or circus clowns get in his way.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

M&Ms: "Devour"

Chocolate candies get no respect.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Priceline: "Negotiator's Daughter Revealed"

Of course Captain Kirk had progeny we didn't know about, and so apparently did the Priceline Negotiator. Kaley Cuoco ("The Big Bang Theory") gets an education, and teaches the old dog a few tricks, too.

Priceline: "Negotiator's Daughter in Action!"

To ensure the best travel deals William Shatner and his cohort are up to some sly maneuvers, kind of.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Pepsi Next "Party"

Wild teen party + parents returning home + carbonated beverage = a scenario hard to believe.

Pepsi Next "Party Shopping"

This teaser ad released online, which sets up the ad featuring Brandon's Party, is actually funnier, thanks to the good people at FunnyorDie.com.

Pepsi Next "Actors vs. Soda Machine"

Competition between advertisers extends beyond the broadcast. FunnyorDie.com also released online a Pepsi ad tweaking Coca-Cola's "Mirage" commercial, as actors portraying badlanders, cowboys and showgirls try to retrieve a favored soda from a faulty machine.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Oreo "Whisper Fight"

Who knew librarians had such power?

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Samsung "The Next Big Thing"

Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd and Bob Odenkirk in an ad copywriter's worst nightmare.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Skechers "Man vs. Cheetah"

If Marlin Perkins of "Wild Kingdom" were narrating this, he'd be speechless.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Taco Bell "Viva Young"

Youth is wasted on the young? Not when these residents of a retirement home make a break for a night of revelry. And what would such debauchery be without a stop at Taco Bell?

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Toyota "Wish Granted"

Kaley Cuoco of "The Big Bang Theory" is a genie who will grant your every wish, even if it has nothing to do with a Toyota RAV4 (though wheels certainly help).

Another teaser ad with Cuoco was posted online:

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Labatt Blue "Crossing the Border"

We're not sure whether it's the beer or the bear suit, but the "good neighbor" relationship between Canada and the United States was never better.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Mayors Against Illegal Guns "It's Time"

Issue ads do not usually make a huge play in the national Super Bowl broadcast, but they are often targeted to specific markets. The advocacy group Mayors Against Illegal Guns is airing this spot in the Washington, D.C., area, featuring none other than the head of the National Rifle Association, Wayne LaPierre, testifying in 1999 that the NRA approves of background checks "for every sale at every gun show. No loopholes anywhere for anyone."

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Volkswagen "Get Happy"

Why the long face, mon? It's just a Monday, nothing to get morose about -- as the Jamaican-tongued character in this VW ad will attest.

Despite some grousing from critics who thought the spot racist, Jamaica's Minister of Tourism and Entertainment, Dr. Wykeham McNeill, said that he was (perhaps unsurprisingly) just fine with it: "I urge persons all across the globe to do exactly what the commercial portrays, which is to tap into your inner Jamaican and 'get happy.'" We hear ya!

Volkswagen "Sunny Side" (Jimmy Cliff)

VW's extended ad starring Jimmy Cliff singing the Partridge Family's "Come On Get Happy," features some of the web's leading viral video stars -- infamous for not smiling -- showing their pearly whites for once.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Wheat Thins "Night Vision"

Will wearing night vision goggles help you protect your precious snack from intruders? How about simply locking the Wheat Thins away somewhere?

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Speed Stick "Unattended Laundry"

Grace under pressure at the local laundromat, thanks to anti-perspirant.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Dunder Mifflin "Paper War With Cat"

Okay, we have a real commercial promoting a FAKE paper company. The denizens of "The Office"'s imaginary Dunder Mifflin are letting off steam the best way they know how, courtesy of products that can actually be ordered from a REAL supplier, Quill Office Supplies. Oh yes, there's a cat, too.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Subway: "A story 15 years in the making"

This ad -- featuring Brian Baumgartner of "The Office" (a REAL Dunder Mifflin employee!), Blake Griffin of the L.A. Clippers, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, speed skater Apolo Ohno and boxer Laila Ali -- pays tribute to the sandwich franchise's spokesman Jared Fogle, who lost 200 lbs and kept it off for 15 years.

Super Bowl XLVII: Watch the ads

Among the movies for which special trailers are being presented are "Iron Man 3," "World War Z," "Oz, the Great and Powerful," and "The Fast and The Furious 6."

For "Star Trek Into Darkness," Paramount Pictures has pre-released an app (available via iTunes, and for Android) that will reveal hidden audio content as the Super Bowl commercial runs, and also make registered users eligible to win a trip to the film's U.S premiere.

Walt Disney Studios "The Lone Ranger"

A 90-second trailer for the Johnny Depp-Armie Hammer Western, which ran in the pre-game portion of the Big Game.
