Brewed Awakening: Man Busted for Drinking Coffee Naked in His Own House

(Personal Photo)
Eric Williamson.

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (CBS/AP) - All Eric Williamson wanted was a cup of coffee to start his day.

With his roommates already out of the house, the twenty-nine-year-old Virgina man decided to help himself to some joe while in the buff.

Ok.

But things got complicated when a passer-by spotted the bare-skinned barista while taking her 7-year-old son to the local school bus stop.

Opps.

Apparently not impressed with the x-rated view, the concerned mom called police, and now Williamson is facing indecent exposure charges for sitting naked in his own house.

The au naturel father-of-one denies any wrongdoing and says any exposure was accidental.

"Yes, I wasn't wearing any clothes but I was alone, in my own home and just got out of bed. It was dark and I had no idea anyone was outside looking in at me," Williamson said.

But Fairfax County Police see it differently.

Spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings said the woman and her son first saw Williamson standing naked inside his doorway as they walked along a path outside his home.

Police say Williamson then followed the two from inside his home and exposed himself again through a large front window.

Police would not pursue a case based on inadvertent exposure, Jennings said.

"I am a loving dad," Williamson said. "Any of my friends and anyone knows that and there is not a chance on this planet I would ever, ever, ever do anything like that to a kid."

The charge is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.

Has anyone heard what happened at Williamson's court date yesterday? Trial, hearing? There was supposed to be a court on Nov. 6 (Yesterday), but other stories seemed to take priority.

My opinion I think this is just strange for someone to call the cops on another person walking around NAKED in their own home.. Knowing this mom probably does the same damn thing when her kids are sleeping.. Like someone else said, next we're not going to be able to have sex or watch porn in our own home.. This guy needs get his charges dropped and the lady needs to get charged for being a beeping betty.. Crazy.. I hope he gets everything dropped... So stupid..

Are you serious??? If this guy can be charged for being naked in his home, then I guess people will be getting charged for having sex in their home or watching x rated movies on their own tv. The person who commented on the fact that if the genders were reversed, the man who looked in the windows would have been in trouble, is absolutely correct. If his life wasn't ruined enough by this awful publicity, the police are sending around fliers, implying that maybe he has done this before.

I think if the woman had been anyone other than a Fairfax policeman's wife, this would have been a non-issue. How much you want to bet she didn't call 911; but rather made a personal phone call to her husband. Now this man will probably have to live with this for the rest of his life. Nudity in your own home should be your own business.

After reading the fact that this man got up at 5:30 in the morning, I starting thinking to myself.....what 7 year old goes to school that early in the morning? The woman told police she was bringing her child to the bus stop....do she always tresspass on this property at that hour of the morning? It just does not add up!

Only in suburban Virginia. This woman who called the police should be arrested for peeping.

Woman: "Officer, that man is exposing himself"
Policeman: "Where? All I see is a man without a shirt drinking coffee"
Woman: "Here, come stand on the wall..."

Sorry, but just because one is inside their own house doesn't make it legally correct. If he was "exposed", then he was EXPOSED. Windows do not obstruct a view from either direction. Neither does an open door. The same principles apply if he was in a motel or hotel room and exposed himself to the outside world. You wouldn't appreciate that if your children were there, now would you?

There is a BIG difference between immodest and indecent exposure.

This woman cut through his yard; entered his property. Is the view the same from the street?
