Teen Who Roasted Kitten Shows No Remorse

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Cheyenne Cherry, 17, pled guilty to charges of animal cruelty and attempted burglary on Wednesday, and admitted she didn't let a kitten out of an oven after a friend put the animal inside and let it roast to death.

Authorities say the pair ransacked a Bronx, NY apartment before putting the cat, Tiger Lily, in the oven, where it cried and scratched before dying.

While in court, Cherry was confronted by animal activists holding signs and posters against the killing.

"It's dead, bitch!" snapped the unabashed teen to a row of animal activists in court, according to the New York Daily News. Reportedly Cherry also stuck her tongue out to them while leaving the courtroom.

Cherry’s 14-year-old friend was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and burglary in the May 6 incident.

After Cherry was arrested, she reportedly told officers that the killing was "just a joke." That "joke" cost Cherry a year in jail.

Harsher laws needed to punish losers like her. It's the nature of the crime that is just so sickening and disturbing. To do this to anyone - human or (any other) animal - is beyond any civilized comprehension. It's 2009 and animal abuse of any kind should not be tolerated.

This woman and her 14 year old fiend are both monsters. To torture and murder a 8 week old kitten who was
totally defenseless is a crime against humanity. What a piece of trash
I don't think much of the state politicians for their weak laws and the Bronx DA as well as Judge Clancy are weak and ineffectual. These 2 fiends made sure to protect themselves with court appointed "liars" and got easy sentencing. These monsters took care of themselves-they made sure that there was no way out for this innocent-they were so strong and bad but they could not stand to hear the doomed kitten crying as it was roasted alive

Good job DA and Judge Clancy

There has to be a special place in HELL, for the cruel, incorrigible, deranged, sociopathic kitten killer Cheyenne Cherry, who put a little helpless kitten in a 500 degree oven, and listening to the kitten's crys and scrathing at the oven door, as it roasted to death, Cherry did not even let the kitten out of Cherry's homemade death trap Hell!. May Karma visit Cheyenne Cherry soon! *All that you put into the lives of others, comes back into your own.

(1.) Contact your legislators and urge them to: (1.) "Pass legislation, whereby any teenage minor, who commits a heinous crime, will be subject to being tried as an adult". (2.) "Pass legislation, whereby parents will be held responsible, along with their minor children, for the crimes that their minor children commit."

The only way to get laws passed, is to contact your legislators. Email, call or write to all of your legislators.

Cherry should have been tried as an adult. A year in jail for Cherry's torturing/roasting a live kitten, is not enough. Cherry is already a hardened criminal, exhibiting serial killer traits: tortures animals, lacks remorse for her crimes, lacks empathy for her victims, enjoys seeing her victims suffer, lacks a conscience, etc.,. Unfortunately, I predict that this is not the last that we have heard of Cheyenne Cherry. God forbid that Cherry should ever be around children and/or become a mother.

CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS, and ask them to please "pass legislation; whereby parents of minors, along with their minor children, would also be held responsible for the crimes committed by their minor children."

If parents know that they too are going to be held responsible for the crimes commited by their minor children, there will be fewer horrific crimes committed by minors.

However, Cheyenne Cherry should have been tried as an adult. Cherry is a harden, evil, sociopathic criminal; whose sickeningly horrific kitten roasting animal torture, total lack of conscience, total lack of empathy for the suffering of others, total lack of remorse, and Cherry's enjoyment of the suffering of others, is indicative of a serial killer. I predict that unfortunately, this is not the last that we have heard of Cheyenne Cherry. She has all of the signs of going on to becoming a much worse criminal.

I JUST SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY HOPE THAT SOMEONE KEEPS AN EYE ON THIS ******. SHE MUST NOT EVER BE LEFT ALONE. SHE MUST BE WATCHED AND TORMENTED BY BEING WATCHED EVERY SECOND FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE. (OF COURSE, TRUE JUSTICE WOULD MEAN HAVING THAT 14 YR OLD S**T FRIEND OF HERS WATCH AS CHEYENNE CHERRY IS STUFFED INTO A 500 DEGREE OVEN, WITH THE "MINOR" GOING IN NEXT.)

In addition to this creature (I can't bring myself to call her a human) being held responsible for the torturous death of this kitten, I feel the parent(s) should also be held accountable. If the mother of the obese boy is accountable for his eating habits, then these parents should be accountable for her lack of compassion/over-abundance of evil.

We could then seek revenge for the innocent fawn that that old ***** killed with a shovel because she was afraid of it. PULLEEZE!!! Who the hell is afraid of a fawn? I would like to gather all these crazy people up and put them on their own planet. Child abusers and people who deal in human sex traffic too!!!

This person is clearly a psychopath. After her release from prison she should be committed to a mental institution and not released until a psychiatric review board can agree that she is no longer a danger to society. That may take 30 or 40 years or more.

She needs more than jail time. She needs her head examined.
And her parents should be investigated as well. The way a
child turns out is a direct result of their environment and
hereditary conditions.
She is a future killer for sure. Keep her off the streets!

Of course she has no remorse what would you expect from such a pig without morals or the brain power to tie a pair of shoes.

HOW CAN WE JUDGE HER ?

The article does not go into her background, what she suffered, what kind of parenting she had or lacked. Was she abused in school by teachers ? We can only guess. This was a CALL FOR HELP. What does society do ? We need to be proACTIve , not proPuNisHMENT. We need to DIALOGUE not just BLAME her and turn our heads away. For too Long kids have been left on their own, with no CULTurAL understanding, no judgment relish with understanding and a commitment to help, not blame.

PUNISHMENT IS NEVER THE ANSWER.

NO PERSON HAS BEEN HELPED BY JAIL. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. SHE KILLS A CAT, A CALL FOR HELP, AND WE PUNISH HER BECAUSE SHE STICKS HER TONGUE OUT AT A REPORTER ???

Animal Acitivists have killled people. what she did was not right, but it does not mean she is a bad person.

Thousands of dead Iraqis, thousands of Americans made homeless through foreclosure, millions of American terrified that their next illness could destroy them financially, and we get fed stories about roasted cats.

Find the media criminals, smoke them out and roast them along with the cats.

This WAS A CALL FOR HELP. PUNISHMENT IS NOT THE ANSWER !

I am supportive of this young girl, who most probably has been abused by a socialal and sociatal sysem that has degraded her, and her talents. This was obviously a call for help, she herself is the young kitten, and thus the object of abuse in her mind. That is why there is no remorse, not until All of Society, apologises to her and her friend, and try to make things whole with some type of educational funds, stipends and professonal help. Not jail. Punishment is never the answer to any crime. Understanding and DIALOGUE are the bedrock fortress that will HEAL, so that we can all move on.

And you know this how? If you read her background story that was first given, her family particularly her brother are very supportive and insist she is a good person. More than abused I would say she is spoiled rotten.
Isn't it just a bit presumptuous to assume she has an abusive family or was "neglected by Society." On what do you base this assumption? Was she crying for help when she kidnapped a dog for ransom and tortured the owners by telling them she may not return it? Was she crying for help when she assaulted her friend? Was she crying for help when she did armed robbery? Wake up and recognize an incorrigible criminal when you see one. You may want to make her your friend, but after the knife is sticking in your back, don't bother crying for help because she is such and poor little thing.

Also, She got off easily because they are not blaming her for the actual murder just an accessory to the girl who allegedly actually put the cat in the oven. I don't believe this for a second. Earlier reports talked about how she bragged how she put the kitten in the oven. I think the attorneys got together and agreed to pin the actual placement on the younger teen because she would be tried as a juvenile and would get off more easily while Cherry could have been tried as an adult and would have received a harsher penalty.

"Hamiltongrad", you said are "supportive of this young girl, who most probably has been abused by a socialal and sociatal system (spell check please) that has degraded her, and her talents.."
*What "talents does Cheyenne Cherry have? Torturing/roasting kittens in an oven, then saying it was a "joke" and "its dead *****"?
Then you go on to say: "This was an obvious call for help..".
*Yes, it was a cry for help; as the helpless kitten cried and tried to claw her way out of the 500 degree oven, that Cherry was roasting her in!
Then you go on to say: "she herself is the young kitten, and this the object of abuse in her mind. That is why there is no remorse, not until All of Society apologises to her and her friend.."
*Yeah, right! "All of Society" is supposed to apologize to a sociopathic deranged kitten roasting/killer (and her criminal friend), who said roasting the kitten was a "joke", and "its dead *****!". I've got news for you, "hamiltongrad". Don't hold your breath, (or crawl into a hot oven), waiting for "an apology from society".
Then you go on to say: "not until All of Society apologises to her and her friend, and try to make things whole with some type of educational funds, stipends and professional help."
*What you, "hamiltongrad" are saying is that: "Society" is suppossed to reward Cherry, the sociopathic kitten killer's deplorable behavior, by giving her "some type of educational funds, stipends and professional help"? Dream on!!!!! Cherry has gotten her "just rewards", JAIL TIME!
Then you say: "Punishment is never the answer to any crime."
*Oh really? Why did a poor helpless innocent kitten, suffer the cruel "punishment" of being roasted alive, at the hands of Cheyenne Cherry, of whom you are so "supportive"?
Quite frankly "hamiltongrad", I for one, have had enough of your bleeding heart drivel, blaming society for the cruel crimes of sociopathic kitten killer Cheyenne Cherry!
And furthermore, don't they teach English and spelling at Hamilton?
