Syrian First Lady Wants to Meet Obamas

(AP )
Syria's first lady has put out the welcome mat for the Obamas, a further sign that the once frosty relations between the two nations is thawing.

In an interview with Britain's Sky News, Asma al Assad envisioned her husband, Bashar, and Barack Obama joining forces.

"The fact is President Obama is young," al Assad said, "and President Assad is also very young as well, so maybe it is time for these young leaders to make a difference in the world."

Asma was born in London and moved to Damascus after marrying Bashar al Assad nine years ago.

Last week, the Obama administration announced it was sending an ambassador to Syria for the first time in four years.

At the end of the Obama presidency we will find that our nation's status in the world will have improved. Our economy will be better. Our nation's energy outlook will be improved. Our environment will be cleaner. Our dependence upon foreign oil will be reduced. In short, our country will be far better off than it was when President Obama took office.

President Bush failed in all these things, yet the republicans that supported his failures will continue to see Obama as a lesser president. How dumb is that?

My name is Nicole I now live in Canada, but was born and raised in Santa Barbara California. I recently came back from Damascus syria. My husband is not into travel so I went alone, no tours. The Syrian people were wonderful, and very kind. I felt completely safe. Among the beautiful mosques are beautiful churches. There is so much misconception about Syria. The world needs to know that Syria is not a threat. People that are afraid for the United States to talk with Syria are very nieve. If the Obamas or anyone visits they will see how safe and friendly Syria actually is.

My name is Bob and its spelled B O B

Its not the people in goverments like Syria that make decisions of whether they want to be terrorist supporting states .

Its the dictators who run them.

I'm sure the Syrians are all nice and so but don't be that naive

The Assads have ruled Syria for over 40 years. If the US needs dictatorship lessons, this is a good place to start.

Where did you hear that from? ...Druggie Limbaugh or junkyard dog Sean Hannity?

You're just a partisan tool for BIG FAILED BANKS.

Our enemy is the British Empire or how you understand it as Wall Street/City of London.

So you've fallen for the propaganda that the Knights Templar would WANT you to believe? Because we all know how they rule through a joint session of the Trilateral Commission and the Star Chamber.

The problem is she's the first lady- She don't run the country no more than Michelle does here.
