Is 14 Year Old CPAC Star The Future Of The GOP?

(CBS)
Fourteen year old conservative Jonathan Krohn won a standing ovation after his three minute speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference last month. Since then, the homeschooled middle schooler has had a spread in the New York Times, done countless radio interviews and fielded interview requests from network anchors.

This week on Washington Unplugged, Krohn told host Bob Schieffer what it is like to be such a young sensation, how he defines a conservative and what he wants to be when he grows up.

“From now on I am going to be known as a political analyst and not just a kid,” the author of the self-published “Define Conservatism” told Schieffer. “But I remember that if I get a big head about it then everything is going to be a whole lot worse than it has been.”

Watch the interview below:

Also on this week’s Washington Unplugged: Our political roundtable discusses the political implications of President Obama’s education policy, and Vanity Fair columnist Christopher Hitchens gives a blunt overview of British-US relations, American foreign policy and the experience of being water boarded.”

His parents made a choice. Pass him off to Michael Jackson or to the GOP. Either way he's screwed.

dj: You are so right. It appears that Pelosi is calling the cards on the stimulus bills because her and Reid formed the previous one. Maybe Pelosi should be the president, Reid the VP and Obama back to his senate seat that he vacated from time to time. This has been the most underhanded corrupt election of all times.

Wow. He'll be the next Tucker Carlson. Remember? He was on 'Dancing with the Stars'. Your 15 minutes are up.

Anway, I'm glad he has opinions and a career path. Good for him.

I think its great that this kid wants to get started in politics early. Why not. Isn't it better than shooting up the campus, taking drugs, heavy on booze. I am positive Obama wanted to be in the political field when he was younger. Its a good start for this kid and good for the republicans. If he becomes a drawing card for the young people that's the good news for the republican party and bad news for the corrupt underhanded democrats.

I think it is cool that someone so young is projecting himself onto the world stage.

These comments about Nazism and creationism are really unfair, and have nothing what so ever to do with anything the guy was saying.

I personally hold nearly opposite views, but I respect his right to say what he wants to say.

I differ with him on belief in individual responsibility, as that is what got us into the current economic mess. There have been no chance of any real reprisals for stupidity since the Soviet Union fell, so of course responsibility has fallen away.

I also disagree with what he has to say about the constitution. There is no uniform interpretation of the constitution. The founding fathers started squabbling over the elastic clause before Washington was out of office. There is a term the justices use called "the living constitution," which means it evolves according to justice interpretation. The original interpretation does not allow the Federal reserve system to exist, but does permit slavery. I do believe actually, that the constitution is outdated and needs to be modified, It's 230 years old, one of the oldest.

I do not know why I am posting on this site, as only losers who can't get into real debates argue over the internet. Just like in the special Olympics, no matter who wins in internet arguments, you're still retarded. I have also found that if you pretend like you know what you are doing, people will believe you. American politics is summed up in that last sentence. As you can probably tell from my internet argument, I have not learned the proper art of pretending yet, perhaps because I think it is disgusting.

Well based on what I have seen in this story. The Democrats are the HATERS and I have 12 pages of posts to prove it. YOu refuse to accept the fact that you also played a role. Why, because you look at who the president is. None of you are smart enough to understand the branches of government
