487 Days At Camp David For Bush

(AP Photo/Lawrence Jackson)
George W. Bush is today making his final visit to Camp David as president.

He will likely miss the place: According to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, today's trip marks Mr. Bush's 149th visit to the presidential retreat. The planned three-day stay, during which the president is being joined by family and former and current aides, will bring his total time spent at Camp David to all or part of 487 days.

Yes, that's 487 days. And Camp David is not even where the president has spent the most time when not at the White House: Knoller reports that Mr. Bush has made 77 visits to his ranch in Crawford during his presidency, and spent all or part of 490 days there.

Hey DannyGlas, Obama has taken ONE vacation! W spent nearly 5 months of his first year in Crawford on vacation! NO President will EVER come close to the 1,000 days W spent away from the White House on vacation, PERIOD!

But to your point, Obama has traveled to meet more World Leaders in his first year than any previous President!

Go back to listening to Rush and his fact fabrication!

200+ days in office and between Camp David on the weekends that he's not on vacation somewhere and he's at a pace to make Bush look like he never took a vacation. $3.5 trillion in additional spending and no way to pay it back without raising taxes on those he promised no to tax... How's your hope and change going. I'm hoping we can change Presidents in 2012.

I just love our Obama Family. I just finished reading Dreams from my Father and the Audacity of Hope, 2 books written by Barack Obama. We have one of the most intelligent Presidents of all times. He is a caring Writer a great Thinker and a politician. All credit goes to his Mom: a white woman who very successfully reared a Black child.

Our President is a father as well as a husband. He appears to get his strenght from his Faith and his Family. When he is out of office thoes 2 parts of his life must still be intact: Camp David will help keep that part of his life together. Next time he goes to Camp David don't tell the public. Camp David can be his place of peace to get away from those piranha in Washington: both Dems and Republicans. We don't need to know his every move--give he and his Family a little space. Yeah, yeah, I know he got himself in this mess, but he still needs space to Think and figure out his next move.

This man has got a TERRIBLE MESS to clean up BUT, the mess is kinda good for him. How else can he STRUT HIS STUFF??? He and his SOLID partners in Washington shall do this for us. THIS WILL HAPPEN. COME ON GET ON BOARD fellow Bloggers, its going to be a Wild Rde, but we will get there!! BUCKLE DOWN, HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS AND LET US "DO THIS!!! WE ARE A M E R I C A N S!!!!

rjixoye again misleads:
"I pray that Obama becomes a Godly man and follows Jesus."

As you know, you liar, he already is. You were happy to label him a Christian when you could associate him to a problem CHRISTIAN pastor.

rjixoye claims: "He is an honorable man and loves God."

Honorable men do not lie in the State of the Union address as Bush did with the WMD''s and the Nigerian ''Yellow Cake''. And tell me, what fellowship (church) does Mr. Bush attend?

Why continue to spread your lying propaganda?

"Everyone is so quick to slam Bush."

Lie! He had a 90% approval rating after 9/11... it took SEVEN YEARS to get to this point. That isn''t "quick" as you claim! You sir or madam are a liar. As the scripture states, "Satan is the father of lies." That makes you the devil''s spawn, according you your own beliefs.

rjixoye asks:

What if those plans [planes] had killed someone you loved. [?]

HUH??? Those who DID loose people then voted for Gore and then for Kerry by overwhelming numbers! (check the percentage of votes in NYC -- the only place in the US attacked by the terrorists, unlike where the people who WERE NOT attacked lived who voted for Bush ... Bush who FAILED, having had 9 months to prepare, to keep us safe.)

Please think for even half a second before posting your lies.

So true. The absolute worst. Read the history books and you will see.

Everyone is so quick to slam Bush. He is an honorable man and loves God. What if those plans had killed someone you loved. The problem with many Americans is that they have no honor of love of God and the bible. They are people who rebell and hate authority. I pray that Obama becomes a Godly man and follows Jesus. Our whole nation has many sins to repent of , including over 50 million murdered unborn babies. May God have mercy on our people.

He just never figured out how to make it profitable for Halliburton and his longtime buddies who own the oil companies.

It will definitely be a BIG step UP.
The thing I will miss about Bush is the clips of him that David Letterman had on his show. He was an entertaining President if NOTHING ELSE.

Gosh, considering he spent over two of his eight years in offic on vacation, it is really scarey to think about how much damage he could have done to our country if he had been at work the full eight years. Thank God, he was not only stupid, but lazy!!

I wish he had spent the whole 8 years at his ranch. Without a phone! This bozo did absolutely nothing for the American people. NOTHING! Then at the end of his wretched term he did everything he could to trash the environmental laws that were on the books. God knows how many other presidential directives he signed that we don''t know about. Well, he can add the presidency to the list of failed things that have made up his career. In just a few days I will have a president and leader again. It''s been a long 8 years.

"Who cares where he was--he was still president, still getting briefinf, still conducting business!"

Well, you got the part about him still being president right, but he wasn''t conducting much business unless it was the business of campaigning or helping his wealthy friends get ahead. He did very little actual state business, instead filling his days with criss-crossing the US on Airforce 1 to take vacations or attend campaign events and GOP fundraisers. His whole first term was spent campaigning for his second run at the presidency. He did little, and what he did do was generally not beneficial for the country or most of it''s people. I won''t be sorry to see him leave office.
