Salazar For Interior Secretary

CBS News reports President-elect Obama is expected to name Sen. Ken Salazar as his choice for interior secretary later this week, according to a Democratic source.

Salazar, a first-term Democratic senator from Colorado who was elected in 2004, has been known for understanding resource issues and Western politics. He would round out Mr. Obama's energy and environment team, the rest of which was announced on Monday.

The choice will also likely be applauded by Hispanic groups. Salazar and commerce secretary pick Bill Richardson are among the nation's most prominent Hispanic politicians.
