McCain Recycles Ad Hitting Obama On Iran

The McCain campaign has resurrected an ad it ran earlier in the campaign claiming that Barack Obama misunderstands the threat posed by Iran. The ad, running in key Florida markets according to the campaign, makes use of a quote from Obama saying that nations like Iran, Cuba and Venezuela are “tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us.”

“Iran. Radical Islamic government, known sponsors of terrorism,” the ad begins. “Developing nuclear capabilities to generate power, but threatening to eliminate Israel. Obama says Iran is a ‘tiny’ country, ‘doesn't pose a serious threat.’ Terrorism, destroying Israel, those aren't ‘serious threats?’ Obama -- dangerously unprepared to be President.”

When the ad first ran in August, the independent group FactCheck.org found that the ad “distorts” Obama’s views on Iran because it takes them out of context and because Obama has said in speeches that Iran is Israel’s greatest threat. Watch the ad:

Don''t believe McCain''s scare tactics. Remember, MCCAIN WAS THE ONE WHO JOKED ABOUT BOMBING IRAN! One of many bills Obama sponsored in Congress was designed to keep track of spent nuclear fuel rods around the world to keep plutonium out of the hands of terrorists. And Obama has stated he will deal with Iran and other countries decisively, but not with the COWBOY DIPLOMACY that McCain would use! John McCain showed a lack of good judgment by choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate; she''s clearly unqualified to be vice-president, let alone president if the need arises. And if Americans elect McCain, what''s to prevent him from using more poor judgment, possibly at a critical moment? WE DON''T NEED FOUR MORE YEARS OF COWBOY DIPLOMACY! Barack Obama will lead with intelligence, clear vision, even temperament, and decisive action. America, we need a CHANGE. VOTE BARACK OBAMA!

Americans are always willing to listen and learn - it''s one of our greatest strengths!

These past months, we have seen McCain demonstrate, both in the debates, and in the way he has conducted himself and his campaign, that he:
is too slow on his feet, too petty, too erratic, and too cranky to be entrusted with running the USA,

too hung up on old, last-century concepts, military issues, and especially on the war in Iraq,

completely clueless about the lives and plights of his own countrymen and -women,

and completely oblivious to the fact that even his beloved military power is not sustainable if the US as a society continues fragmenting, and falls behind our competitors around the world.

(My goodness, John McCain has even demonstrated trouble counting his houses, condos, and automobiles!)

In just 7 days, the politics of ploys, stunts, slime, sleazy robocalls, zingers, racial hatred, inciting to violence, and culture wars will be on the ballot!

On Nov. 4th, the politics of Bush/Cheney, McCain/Palin, Rove/Steve Schmidt, & Rupert Murdoch%u2019s Fox News, will be defeated.

Americans, remember! We need a huge turnout & a landslide victory, because as we can today see, the Republicans are again trying to steal this election at the polling stations, just like in 2000 & 2004!

Americans, black, white & brown, will vote with strength and courage, elect Obama/Biden in overwhelming numbers, & return honesty, decency, & integrity to American politics!

Starting Nov. 5th, we%u2019ll begin the hard work of repairing the immense damage these Republican Party thieves and scoundrels have done to our economy, our country, & our people.

The two recently apprehended skinheads planned to take the hatred and vindictiveness of the McCain/Palin campaign to its final, logical step.

That would be the one step further that Ashley Todd, the white woman campaign operative who made up the story of being mugged and brutalized by a black Obama supporter just three news cycles ago, had also been willing to provoke. (Remember Ashley? PITTSBURGH, Oct. 24 - McCain Worker Made Up Attack Story - To Be Charged With Making False Report).

Rogue actors, sure!

But they have been shown the way, and incited to their actions, by the rhetoric of Sarah Palin and John McCain, - who%u2019s gutter campaign tactics have been bringing just this element to the surface at their rallies these past weeks.

And that is the point.

This McCain-style campaign from the gutter must not be rewarded with victory at the polls, but rather, must be soundly defeated on election day, Nov 4th, just 7 days from today!

By the way...

Remember Republicans posting about "Berg vs. Obama, Civil Action No. 08-cv-4083", seeking a Declaratory Judgment and an Injunction that Obama does not meet the qualifications to be President of the United States?

Let me pass on to the readers of this blog the following info:

This lawsuit has been thrown out of court (i.e., dismissed) as "frivolous and not worthy of discussion", as of Oct. 25th.

If there are more of these bogus law suits in other courts, this decision will become the precedent for tossing them out, too.

Too bad for McCain, but as the old saying goes, when something appears too good to be true, it''s not - same with McCain''s chances this would ever save him from his well-deserved election thrashing in just 7 days.

In the last two Bush elections, Big Oil, Big Pharma, and Big Tobacco bankrolled Bush to the hilt.

No complaints from Republicans, as a small oligarchy of corporations bought the US Presidency away from 300 million Americans!

This succeeded because we didn''t do enough to support Gore''s & Kerry''s campaigns & help them defeat the Republican sleaze machine.

They lost, and we, the people, lost big time - Republican-made disasters just keep on breaking down on us every day!

But we''ve learned from that experience - today, more than 3 million citizens have donated, and tens of thousands are working day & night for Obama.

By the sheer additive power of this huge public response, we will enable Obama/Biden to win this campaign, and to beat the sleaze machine of McCain/Palin/Rove & Fox Nows.

With Obama, the bombs will simply be falling in Afghanistan instead of Iran.

The USSR already tried war in Afghanistan. They border the country, they failed, and it ended up bringing down their economy and their country.
And, yet, Lord Obama will send our troops to Afghanistan instead of bringing them home AS HE PROMISED!

And, Obama won''t catch Osama Bin Laden either.

Worthless...

Why oh why, are there three McCain posts in a row?

They NEED a close race to get more eyeballs. More eyeballs = more revenue. Which is why they''re pushing a whole bunch of pro McCain stories right now. Expect this to continue throughout the week.

Sad, when you have to recycle ads that have already been proven as dishonest distortions. TPM:

Obama didn''t say that Iran doesn''t pose any serious threat: he said that Iran doesn''t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us.

What''s more, Obama didn''t simply say Iran was "tiny," as the ad suggests, in an effort to con you into believing that Obama sees Iran as no threat at all. Rather, he said it was tiny compared to the Soviet Union.

These serious distortions are also at odds with Obama''s actual positions on Iran. Obama has repeatedly said Iran is a threat to Israel, and has also clearly said that Iran is a threat in the broader sense that its "support for terrorism" has "increased."

Great ad!

The reality of Barack Hussein Osama is that no one really knows where he stands other than his rhetoric which changes as the polls dictate.

Obama can conveniently claim that he opposes the Iraq War and would have voted against it because he was not eligible to vote.

While I won''t vote for McCain, I most certainly will not vote for the unknown Obama, and I didn''t need Republicans or their ads to help me arrive at that decision.

Common sense says don''t vote for Obama no matter who you vote for.

Vaughn Vevers - can you be more obviously biased than you are! How about the same objectivity about Obama distorting McCain''s record and highlighting things in his resume which does not exist.

This is another reason why the media has so little relevance to ordinary Americans. There bias is so obvious. It is time you be a professional and not be used as the mouthpiece of the Obama campaign.

Try to be ethical. It sometimes works.

Have you seen the latest Huffington Post headline? it seems that in the latest Pew poll more people see McCain as an extension of Pres. Bush.

This is not good news for him.

Joe the Plumber shows more intelligence than all the Ivy-league Liberals, combined.

And you know why?

Because Joe the Plumber doesn''''t ignore the obvious - that Barack Obama is a Marxist who wants to destroy democracy in America, and destroy the American way of life.

Liberals love to pretend that they are smarter than everyone else, but you wouldn''''t know it by their actions...
