Palin: “I Know Obama Loves America”

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

(MUNCIE, IND.) - Just two weeks ago, she accused him of palling around with a terrorist, but Sarah Palin left no doubt at an impromptu press conference on Friday that she believes the Democratic nominee is acting in what he thinks is in the best interest of the country he loves.

“I know Obama loves America,” Palin said on the short flight from Cincinnati to Indianapolis when asked by CBS News whether she thinks the Democratic nominee loves his country as much as she does.

“I’m sure that is why he’s running for president. It’s because he wants to do what he believes is in the best interest of this great nation. I believe that our ticket can do a better job for America as we reduce taxes and rein in government and allow our private sector and our families to prosper, to grow, and to keep more of what they earn and produce so that they can reinvest according to our own priorities. I think that that is best to get the economy back on track. It’s a better agenda for America. But I don’t question at all Barack Obama’s love for this great country.”

Though she continues to hammer Obama on a daily basis on issues ranging from alleged voter registration fraud to taxes, Palin has stopped mentioning Obama’s relationship to 1960s radical William Ayers on the stump. The Alaska governor told reporters that it’s now up for the public to decide whether that relationship is relevant.

“Well, I think that American voters are understanding that association—that it’s OK to talk about fact,” she said. “Of course, Barack Obama had been bringing it up, even in challenging John McCain on that, saying if you want to talk about it, talk about it, too, so McCain did that, and the association is out there. It’s up now to the people of America to decide whether that association is important enough to them to research and find out more about a person’s judgment and truthfulness.”

Asked why it was appropriate to question Obama’s judgment over his association with Ayers, while John McCain has declared off limits the Illinois senator’s relationship with his former pastor Jeremiah Wright, Palin said that the decision to bring up Wright was “up to John McCain to decide.” CBS News pointed out that Obama had sat in Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years (the senator’s relationship with Ayers has been shown to be something far less than a close friendship).

"That's true,” Palin said. “He sat in the pews for 20 years and heard Reverend Wright say some things that most people would find a bit concerning. But again that is John McCain's call."

amazing how sarah palin passes judgement on obama with all the skeletons in her house of hypocrisy. palin and her husband, todd, were members of an alaska secessionist group that advocated the independence of alaska from the US "by any means necessary, including violence". palin thinks she has been sent to us be God and is on a mission to "rule America". furthermore, palin is the quintessential hypocrite inciting her rallies to "kill Obama" and make racial epithets. sarah palin is disgraceful and disgusting.

McCain failed his first executive decision test by choosing Palin. ANYONE who would choose her as their VP and potential successor as President indicates someone of questionable judgement. Believing that she has the intellect and knowledge to be a GOOD president indicates someone of questionable intellect. Even though I favor Obama, if Palin were a democrat and Obama had chosen her for VP, I''d vote for McCain. Now that''s straight talk.

Yes, Palin is for transparency, which is a good metaphor for most of us who can see right through her disgusting tactics and ever-lacking qualifications. There''s nothing like hypocrisy to turn the masses off. Why then can''t she see herself for what role she is playing? She has turned herself into the quintessential CEO who abuses power and is unrepentant, but would like to tell us all the advice in how to fix up the mess(that they make and take no responsibility for). For those who don''t subscribe to her far-right ideology, we see her as someone espousing "do as I say, not as I do." Even though we don''t go to rallies with signs saying disgusting, vile things against her, --- she is right, we are very angy -- but just not at Obama. We are angry at her party -- at her, at McCain at the whole host of republicans who lead us down to this dark place. Many of us find her lipstick and pit-bull tactics repulsive and patronizing to the real issues we are concerned about

OF COURSE they stopped playing the Ayers card.

Becuase G. Gordon Liddy is right there in their faces, ready to be played against McCain.

As well as the AIP.

And it''s about time, too, that THEY start answering some questions.

the choice of Sarah Palin is THE BEST REASON TO NOT VOTE FOR MCCAIN due to his obvious and EXTREME LACK OF JUDGEMENT. She is PATHETIC. She cannot answer simple questions informatively or even semi-intelligently, when unscripted and having to speak in a candid setting. If Obama chose her, I would vote for someone else and be critical of Obama, just the same. ANYONE WITH EVEN THE SLIGHTEST ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY IN THEIR CRANIUM, KNOW SHE IS OF MARGINAL INTELLIGENCE. To the McCain supporter, the ENDS JUSTIFIES THE MEANS, so they defend her because they would rather run the risk of having her become president than the alternative that a person of intelligence and fairness (Obama) might become president. Pull your head out of the sand, do the sniff test, and vote Obama.

McCain definition of "Country First" = McCain personal ambition to become president, at any cost, even if it means picking a vice president that would be a NATIONAL SECURITY RISK (DUE TO HER ABJECT LACK OF INTELLECT) WERE SHE EVER TO BECOME PRESIDENT (GOD HELP US AND THE ENTIRE PLANET)

So does this mean my state (Wisconsin) and our citizens are "pro-America" even if we don''t happen to vote for McCain-Palin?

Or would we still not be in Palin''s "pro-America" territory? I thought we all wanted America to do well, but we''re getting kind of used to being slurred as non-patriotic or not good Americans whenever we don''t buy the Republican kool-aid.

The tactic of bringing up Ayers was not working, rather it has diminished support for the McCain/Palin ticket. That is the ONLY reason Palin has dropped the attacks and now decided to take the "high road" concerning Barack Obama''s love of his country -- when so recently she claimed, he "found our country so imperfect...".

You ever played poker? Well an analogy to the game gives us... these people are "all in" for getting elected and getting elected only. Winning at all costs -- to truth, decency, honor, fair play and most important the good of the America we all love.

Sarah Palin can say Obama loves America because he does care about the commonfolk! And Sarah Palin says she loves America too! I guess when she abused her power as governor in Alaska she really showed her compassion and caring for Americans especially those who trusted her!

"Pro America" knows obama loves his country. However, you have continually questioned this. Just what does "Pro America" mean. The lower 48 do not belong to your husband''s old Independent party which wants to secede from the union and be their own country. I think you drank some of their koolaid because in the lower 48, we are all "Pro America".

It is this simple, Palin is just not qualified to lead this Nation in any form whatsoever, she is like any average College graduate out there. She has performed her campaigning like she is running for High School President utilizing cute High School antics like winking in the middle of the debate. These High School antics have no place in a campaign for one of the greatest country in the land. She is no intellect, obvious by just a couple of interviews by Katie. She would be a huge mistake to have her in the White House at all, it is just that much scarier when we have already had 8 years of a huge mistake and quite frankly I do not know whether or no the country can withstand another mistake for another four years. There are just somethings people need to take seriously this is not a beauty contest, not a popularity contest, not even a one line zinger contest. This is one of the most influential jobs on the planet. We need a disciplined serious, and someone with superior intellect, and yet some with compassion, and understanding of history, and the issues.

For our planets sake....

The Republican Party has taken over slinging the SLIME against Obama.

The RNC and the McCain Campaign are doing the nastiest "ROBO-CALLS" calling Obama a terrorist.

The RNC is sending out the slimiest flyers saying Obama wants to BOMB Americans.

The RNC is questioning Obama''s PATRIOTISM

So lil'' miss Palin can smile and WINK and say she thinks Obama is OK, while she knows her Campaign SURROGATES and the RNC are out there doing the DIRTY WORK FOR HER.

These people want to have it BOTH WAYS. SLIME and SMILE while claiming to have CLEAN HANDS.

DISGUSTING.

Voter registration fraud is real, but the kinds of allegations about Acorn are actually frauds perpetrated on Acorn and not the political process. Organisations that engage in voter registration drives are required by law to submit every registration form that they receive, no matter how obviously fraudulent the information. That law is in place as an extremely important protection for the process so that organisations are not able to go on a mass registration drive and then throw out all the Republican registrants or Democratic registrants before they submit the forms to the state government. They have a responsibility to flag those forms that they believe are fraudulent or invalid, but they cannot disqualify them on their own. For example, Acorn goes and registers 100,000 people in Ohio out of which they identify 5,000 registration forms that are clearly phony that they flag, but they have to turn them in anyway. Then Republicans go around spreading malicious stories about Acorn turning in thousands of fraudulent registrations, but they know Acorn is required by law to turn them in and they know that those registrants will never be added to the voter rolls.

If John McCain had his political coming out party in the home of an individual who bombed abortion clinics and said he wish he''d bombed more, liberals and liberal controlled networks like CBS (a network that has dropped all pretence of objectivity in this race) would have a very different take on this. The Obama-Ayers relationship has been extensive. CAC documents are being reviewed now and so far the evidence is very compelling. Obama should resign for downplaying his relationship with that "guy who lives in my neighborhood" ***.

Hey Dogbitez, as vile and ugly as saying that Obama is an articulate , clean, good-looking black man - Joe Biden or perhaps
You can''t walk into a 7-11 without seeing an Indian - Joe Biden.

You know, maybe Mrs. Obama had a reason to say what she said about being proud of this country?

How does a republican congress woman call a fellow politician a radical Anti-American who hates his country? Is this anything we can be proud of? Are we so narrow that we are finally going postal on a fellow American because he thinks in a different way? Id it wrong to have ideas and direction?

The republican party has gone too far. I really think it is they who are the radical anti-Americans.

I am sick of the filthy politics of the desperate and hateful. John McCain should retire from politics because he is no longer a decent American and does not believe in real diversity. John McCain will not win, he has not won because he does not have the decency to succeed. And now he has his attack dogs calling voters and telling them lies out of desperation. John McCain, I would not vote for you ever. You are a dishonest, disgruntled old man who has no control over himself. You do not have the skin it takes to even think about your hatred.

This is all the more reason to vote for Obama. He explained the Ayers charges and yet, out of desperation, McCain keeps his lying dogs making phone calls.

Shame on you, John McCain, shame on you!

Palin is an insult to all intelligent , hard -working women who are trying to break that glass-ceiling (which she shamelessly mentioned in the Convention speech). We want a woman who can come across as professional (not folksy, we can find that in our daily lifes), knowledgeable (I can see Russia from my house..), and experienced (yeah sure, she was the mayor and is the Governor of Alaska). And a woman whose spouse would not interfere in her job (like calling meetings when he is obviously not part of the office ) - the CIAs, FBIs, secret Service teams, and other White House staff will be busy doing his biddings rather than doing what they are actually paid to do, if Palin ever gets into office as VP.

Voting for McCain/Palin is irresponsible. President Bush is a danger to our economy, our troops and an embarassment to our country. McCain IS NOTHING DIFFERENT!

Point 1: McCain finally said "Im not George Bush..." not once did he ever back this. He is lying and will continue to support plans that do not work.

Point 2: McCain is rude, hotheaded, grumpy, nervous, erratic, stubborn and emotional. Did anyone notice how uncomfortable he was in the debates? He''s also a hypocrite - 1 minute saying Obama''s a threat to our country next calling him a good person.

Point 3: Sarah Palin, is an even bigger embarassment and hypocrit. She is not fit to run a country but more like Val Victorian.

Point 4:
McCain''s policies like Trickle Down Economics have been fact checked and said to not work (or at least not within the time budget proposed and without spending money like he knocked Obama for). Stop telling us how Obama wants to tax us... Just to clear this up folks. Obama said only 5% of small businesses would be taxed, the truth is only 2%. And only profit is taxed, not net business worth. Joe plumber you will not be taxed!

Last Point: If your voting for McCain its because of "experience". 1 question...If you had a choice choosing between a doctor who has injured 98% of his patients, or one fresh out of med school with new ideas that make sense - who would you choose? McCain stop lying to the American people and retire!

The special prosecutor in the Keating 5 case recommended that McCain be dropped, but since McCain was the only Republican of the 5, dems would have no part of it. The prosecutor said recently that McCain did nothing wrong. Frankly, it doesn''t matter how old Obama was when it happened. Ayers crimes are well known. I suppose if I sat on a board with Charles Manson I''d not be guilty of bad judgement because it all happened when I was 6. I''d be willing to give Obama a free pass if it were just Ayers, but he has more radical friends than Clinton had bimbos. Ok buddy, what if McCain''s coming out party had been with a guy who bombed an abortion clinic 30 years ago? What then, would you be a ok with it? I''m trying to see if your logic computes. Please also address Biden''s racist comments if you can!

BTW, Walter Annenberg was an ambassador during the Reagan administration. It''s not uncommon for generous donors to have their money hijacked by what turns out to be a radical cause.

With the economy being the way it is, the LAST thing we need is an inexperienced apprentice like Obama leading the country. Think about it. What qualifies him to be an expert in the economy? HE HAS NOT LED ANYTHING HIS WHOLE LIFE. What makes people think he will do great the FIRST TIME he leads anything? He does not even read the bills he votes for in congress. I mean, seriously people. Having a liberal spender as president when we do not have the money to spend, and having an equally liberal congress is going to destroy the little that is left of this country; that will be a DISASTER.

What''s interesting is that people say Obama has no experience.

What Experience does John McCain have RUNNING ANYTHING? His wife is the businesswoman, not him, and the last time he ran anything was as a decent ranking officer in the navy.

Fact is, that running a campaign is a larger task that involves managing more employees and more money than anything McCain has ever run. Obama has run it infinitely times better than McCain has.

What experience does McCain have?

He''s visited a lot of place but we don''t need a rich tourist to run this country. McCain''s "visits" and views are tainted by his ideology. He looks at Free Trade as an important part of life but fails to realize that only 1/4th the new jobs were created in the past 8 years compared with Clinton''s term, this even with LOWER TAX RATES. Free trade causes this to happen. McCain has been for deregulation all his life and now we expect him to actually capably regulate the markets?

McCain has NO EXPERIENCE running anything besides a campaign, which he sucks at. McCain has no experience with actual military general decisions, more than Obama does, but like Obama, he will rely primarily on his advisors, McCain has no experience running a business, running a state, or running an economy.

Fact is the last senator to win the Presidency was JFK in 1960, in the last near half century every other president was either a governor or a vice president. That''s because governors and vice presidents have compatible levels of experience, unless you''re sarah palin and don''t have the intellectual capacity to be president.

So stop this experience issue. Reagan didn''t have as much experience as Carter and Clinton didn''t have as much experience as Bush but the newcomers still won. And those two were going up against REAL Presidential experience, not legislative experience.

In fact, you figure you republicans would be smart enough to realize that experience doesn''t win elections. Reagan lost in 60, Ford lost in 76, Carter lost in 80, Bush lost in 1992, Gore lost in 2000, and McCain will now lose.

In fact, nevermind. Keep saying to everyone that Obama has no experience and we''ll see who wins this election.
