Obama Continues Jabbing McCain on Economy

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(ELKO, NEV.) - Barack Obama continued to pounce on John McCain’s response to the latest slew of bad economic news, accusing him of being too cozy with Washington lobbyists to offer a genuine solution.

At a small campaign event today, Obama quoted McCain saying that he will take on “the old boys network in Washington” if he is elected.

“I’m not making this up,” Obama said. “This is somebody who’s been in Congress for 26 years, who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign and now he tells us that he’s the one who’s gonna take on the old boys network?”

“In the McCain campaign that’s called a staff meeting. C’mon!,” he added as the crowd laughed.

Obama also blasted McCain’s recommendation for the creation of a 9/11 style commission to investigate the financial crisis.

“That’s Washington-speak for ‘we’ll get back to you later’,” Obama said. “We don’t need a commission to tell us how we got into this mess, we need a President who will lead us out of this mess.”

He then joked, “At this rate, by the end of the week John McCain and Phil Gramm, they’re gonna be talking about how they’re gonna grab those seven lobbyists, they’re gonna plan to storm the Treasury Department with torches and pitchforks. Come on.”

Biden was the one that said "Obama would be a President in training"

Hillary said he could not answer the phone at 3AM and make executive decisions. She said he was not ready to become president.

There is a reason they said this! because they believe it is true!!!

In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future. I follow an economist named Bob Proctor who has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly. He perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown, and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years is terrifying. He thinks it could get worse then the great depression. Country wide the largest mortgage bank in the world Bear Stearns, Lehman brothers, and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 Wall Street firms, and now Fanny and Freddy which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States. The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. Lehman, Merrill Lynch, and Bear Sterns have survived for over 150 years. Bush just like McCain doesn''''t understand the economy, thats not just my opinion it%u2019s his own words. The people that make up these securities use complex math models very few people understand. They are basically bundles of thousand of loans some good and some bad that are then given rules based on complex math. MSN money, Elliot wave and, Bloomberg have many articles. So why are the poll%u2019s even close? The chairman of McCain%u2019s campaign recently said that people don''''t vote on issues they vote on a personality composite, he is trying to sell personality instead of results. Lets teach him we are smarter then that and elect the ticket that can bring us back from the brink of a economic abyss. obama08

The economy trumps any/all other issues in the election.

By election day, it will be known as ''''The Bush Depression''''

McCain can''''t unshackle himself from Bush.

Palin is now irrelevant. She''s nothing but a hood ornament on the derailed ''Straight Talk Express''.

Buh bye!

Here''s why McCain has NO CREDIBILITY:

All of the TOP PEOPLE RUNNING the McCAIN CAMPAIGN are lobbyists for large corporations, including Big Oil, and FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

Campaign CEO - Rick Davis, a partner at lobbying firm Davis Manafort

National Campaign Director- Christian Ferry and associate at lobbying firm Davis Manafort

National Political Director- Mike Dennehy, who founded The Dennehy Group, a New Hampshire lobbying firm

National Finance Director- Susan Nelson lobbyist working for Loeffler Group LLC. Continued taking monthly lobbying payments after starting with McCain''s campaign.

Senior Policy Advisor- David Crane. A Senior Executive at The Washington Group, a corporate lobbying firm with 2006 billings of $10.4 million.

Senior Foreign Policy Adviser - Randy Scheunemann. He is McCain''s PRIMARY Foreign Policy Adviser. He is also a lobbyist for FOREIGN COUNTRIES, including Georgia (that was just in a war with Russia).

National Finance Co-Chair Tom Loeffler Owns one of the most lucrative and influential lobbying practices in Washington.

Regional Campaign Manager- Doug Davenport ran DCI''s lobbying practice. Was forced to leave when it was exposed that he LOBBIED FOR the REPRESSIVE REGIME IN BURMA.

Campaign Spokesman- Charlie Black who is chairman of BKSH & Associates, with lobbying billings of $7.6 million in 2006

Phil "Americans are whiners" Gram who created the current economic crisis.

Barack Obama has no lobbyists on the payroll or serving as key advisers.

A 9/11 commission? No wonder McSame is living in another age. Why would anyone want a commission when we see the source of the problem, beginning with Phil Gramm, he of the "mental recession and whiners" theory, and the rest of the lobbyists that McSame has surrounded himself. If elected, he would just have them rewrite regulations to ensure that more lobbyists and the rich will get more and the ordinary folks even less!! We cannot afford even one more year of the fiasco that Bush/Cheney/McSame/Gramm have caused and any support for more of the same is nothing less than suicidal.

The Republicans are so immature! They act like impatient children in the backseat of the car shouting

%u201Care we there yet?%u201D
%u201Care we there yet??%u201D
%u201Care we there yet???%u201D

They%u2019ve been coveting a release to allow offshore drilling to alleviate the United States Energy quandary and, now when the congress is acting in their interests they aren%u2019t pleased and are throwing tantrums!!

Ok America, we%u2019ve heard what the GOP wants but, watch what they do. The Republicans are not out for the better interests of you and I again.

These are times we must pay attention.
If You were The Boss... which team would you hire?

With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts,
stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high
prison population, skyrocketing Federal spending, mortgage
crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an unusually
critical election year.

Let''s look at the educational background of the
candidates and see what they bring to the job:

Obama:
Occidental College - Two years.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with a
specialization in international relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna *** Laude

Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in
political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 out of 899
(meaning that, like George Bush, McCain was at the bottom of
his class)

Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism

Now, which team are you going to hire to lead the most
influential nation in the world?

The House of Representatives have passed an energy bill allowing for the States to approve OFFHORE OIL LEASES!

Bush and the Republicans aren%u2019t satisfied with the details of the bill and have declared a vote block in the US Senate and a Veto by the President.

What happened to %u201Cdrill baby drill???%u201D

I expect they should do as John McCain promised and start drilling tomorrow!
