Prison-Themed Board Game Could Cause Potential Obama Veep Headaches

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is seen as a strong contender to become presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama's running mate. But as Obama's vice presidential vetters are surely aware, a board game created by Sebelius' son – 23-year-old John – could become a campaign issue if the governor joins the ticket.

The game is called "Don't Drop The Soap," and it is, as The Capital-Journal delicately put it, an "adult-themed board game based on life in prison." The game, which was created by John Sebelius when he was a student at the Rhode Island School of Design, sells for $34.99, and is described this way on its Web site:
Fight your way through 6 different exciting locations in hopes of being granted parole. Escape prison riots in The Yard, slip glass into a mob boss' lasagna in the Cafeteria, steal painkillers from the nurse's desk in the Infirmary, avoid being cornered by the Aryans in the Shower Room, fight off Latin Kings in Gang War, and try not to smoke your entire stash in The Hole.
Harper's Magazine (subscription only) recently listed the contents of some of the cards used in the game. Among them: "You set fire to your bunk while your cellmate robs the INFIRMARY. He splits his take with you. Collect five packs." And: "You're an educated black man. You obviously didn't get paroled."

Sebelius spokeswoman Nicole Corcoran said in January that the governor and her husband, U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary Sebelius, "are very proud of their son John's creativity and talent." But the game has already caused Sebelius problems: A Kansas state senator called for an investigation into the game because he said it was being marketed and stored at the governor's mansion in violation of state law. (Corcoran noted that John Sebelius lived in the mansion at the time.) Republican Sen. Tim Huelskamp also called the game obscene and racist.

Sebelius responded by complaining that Huelskamp had made a decision to "pick on my son."

Who cares what the woman''s son did? At this point, not only can no one run for VP--no one can run for Pres. either--after all, who''s family does not have a few skeletons, risque personalities or how many of us do not know at least one racist or screwball? Guilt by association now? Then neither Obama, HRC or McCain is electable, because each of them have people who are questionable or downright scumbags in their repertoire.

I think it''s too late to pick a woman for VP anyway . . . if Barack''s going to pick a woman it has to be THAT woman if you know what I mean (Hillary + Bill).

Otherwise Hillary supporters will say that Barack sees women as interchangeable, and there isn''t enough time for Sebelius to establish a connection given that Hillary''s been in the public eye for so long.

And anyway, Sebelius has a totally different personality . . . I think she appeals to a different kind of woman - those who are probably already supporting Obama.

"Liberals need to be more sensitive to the prison community."

Yeah, for the neo.cons liking the sleaze needs to be spelled out in black and white, from Scooter Libby''s novel, The Apprentice ...

Excurpt from the New Yorker magazine~ "Libby does not shy from the scatological. The narrative makes generous mention of lice, snot, drunkenness, bad breath, torture, urine, %u201Cturds,%u201D armpits, arm hair, neck hair, pubic hair, pus, boils, and blood (regular and menstrual). One passage goes, %u201CAt length he walked around to the deer%u2019s head and, reaching into his pants, struggled for a moment and then pulled out his ***. He began to **** in the snow just in front of the deer%u2019s nostrils.%u201D"

Also this is shocking Libby writes "At age ten the madam put the child in a cage with a bear trained to couple with young girls so the girls would be frigid and not fall in love with their patrons. They fed her through the bars and aroused the bear with a stick when it seemed to lose interest. Groups of men paid to watch."

My brother was working in this hyper-competitive environment and one weekend he brought me to check out his office and his office-mate had this company photo sheet of coworkers at their level. So this office mate had been using the photo sheet as like a chart of his ''progress'' through the ranks via attrition and had been putting an ''X'' through each person''s picture as they were ''asked to find new employment''.

I have this picture in my mind of Billary having pictures of possible VP candidates tacked up in their home with them doing the same thing as dirt slowly starts trickling out. Webb collects Confederate memorabilia? X! Sebelius'' son? X! Mark Warner? We''ll take it! X!

Who knows, although I though she said she was going to campaign for Barack - what happened to that?

This whole thing is so out of hand it makes me think I''m losing MY sanity. The republicans are looking for ANYTHING to smear Obama with. In this case, the fact that this woman was possibly being considered as his VP will be used to make the case that he should have known about the son and that he approves of this type of "game". Next thing you know, the janitor at the high school where Obama went had a cousin who knew a woman whose second cousin knew a man who was a member of the communist party back in 1952. Therefore Obama must be a communist. Let''s talk about the ISSUES that are important to all of us. This mud slinging is making me sick. Stop it!!!!!

The reason Clinton supporters and Independants will not vote for Obama is because they are embarrassed of him, his life, his unfair tactics and his beliefs. And they still don''t know all about him.

They don''t want a candidate that has been in a twenty year relationship with Reverend Wright and the Trinity United Church of Christ.

They don%u2019t%u2019 want a candidate that has a twenty year relationship with Father Pflaeger as his compass in life

They don%u2019t want a candidate that went to a church that supports Louis Farrakhan, an anti Semitic racist.

They don''t want to defend Black Liberation theology.

They don%u2019t want a candidate that lies about his relationship with Tony Rezko, the Syrian Criminal that sold his property to Obama and supported his campaign.

They don''t want a candidate that could work with a domestic terrorist, William Ayers.

They don%u2019t'' want a candidate that didn''t stand up for the voters of Michigan and Florida.

They don%u2019t want a candidate that Hamas supports.

They don%u2019t want a candidate that Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam support

They don%u2019t want a candidate that has a wife that has just now realized she was proud of our country.

They don%u2019t want a candidate that denies Florida and Michigan their voices

They don%u2019t want a candidate that mentions 57 states in his speeches. 50 states in the USA and 57 states in the Nation of Islam (IOC website)

Reicht winged Fascist media desperately continues to try to make issues out of non-issues as far as Obama is concerned. Yet the reicht winged fascist media has not mentioned one word about the impeachment legislation now winding its way through Congress to hold Bush/Cheney and their number one supporter John McCain accountable for high crimes agaisnt the USA.

This impeachment thing is going to continue *** for tat for years and is just going to drive a wedge between Democrats and Republicans instead of having them work together to solve America''s and the world''s problems. It started with Democrats being disappointed at failing to impeach Nixon then Republicans took the opportunity to go after Clinton now Bush II is in the firing line. Who wants to bet that there will not be some move to impeach President Obama in the next four years?

Sebelius has more problems than her warped child.
She is teetering on top of an influence peddling scandal where diverted campaign contributions greased the way for thousands of illegal late term abortions on viable infants at two Kansas clinics.
Sebelius%u2019 hand picked Attorney General is suing a District Attorney on behalf of one of the clinics in a last ditch attempt to keep a lid on the scandal but documents already released spell big problems for the Kansas Governor. The scandal has already tarnished her appeal with red state voters and the fact that she under official sanction from the Catholic Church for her role in the scandal diminishes the possibility that she could help Obama with blue collar Catholics who were a big part of the so called Reagan Democrats.

Xlib....Thanks for your post. I got quite a laugh out of it. You are certainly a master of sarcasm. Maybe we should do a little more research on our candidates. If we do enough we can probably impeach both of them before the election. I find it interesting that you find all sorts of things to throw at Obama but you never mention anything about McCain''s past. He is not the sterling fellow you seem to think he is. But I think all this will come out in debates and in the news between now and the election. So keep up the good work, my friend. We''ll just wait and see where the cards fall. No hard feelings. Live long and prosper.

"Republican Sen. Tim Huelskamp also called the game obscene and racist."

Funny, Huelskamp belongs to the party of the kkk, aryan nations, David Duke, the Pats, Buchanan and Robertson, Bush, Limbaugh, Novak, Hannity, and other such sociopaths, and dares call a game designer racist.

As a "Black" man, I find the line "You''re an educated black man. You obviously didn''t get paroled." to be a sarcastic observation that is actually quite funny, but it might have been even funnier if it had also read, "and because you are educated, you probably won''t..."

This Kansas Gov. would be a safe bet, since anyone who runs as VP for OsamaObama has to be in a position of ready to get out of Washington politics forever.

Can you only imagine how tough it would be for any D.C. political star to latch onto the coat tails of the #1 most liberal member in the US Senate, who also happened to be a member of a black seperatist church for the past 20 years.

A man who''s vision of "CHANGE" is to change America back to the days of Jimah Carter''s tax and spend days. A man who now admits to being scared silly over going heads up with an "Old Man" in a debate format that clearly favors the quicker witted and more experienced of the two.

No doubt, riding second chair behind the most liberal member of the Senate, who views all Americans by the percentage-American they are, with zero gravitas, and showing major cracks in maturity is without a doubt a real winning formula. ROTFLMGTBO!!!!

Al Gore''s Daddy never became a Republican. Robert KKK Byrd never became a Republican.

The Democrat Party had a stranglehold on the South until the old "Yellow Dog" began to die off in large numbers, and Jimah Carter demonstrated to all of us southerner boys how you couldn''t trust any Democrat, even if he was born and raised in the south.

The Democrat Party always has been, and it remains to this day the home of the KKK.

It is also the home party of NARAL, the baby butchers.

Shingles, please allow me to grant you a history lesson.

The "Yellow Dog" wing of the Democrat Party began to lose it''s hold in 1961 when they buried Mr. Sam. Then in ''63 JFK was assasinated and LBJ came to power.

LBJ had to turn to the Rebublican Party to get his Civil Rights legislation passed, because folks like Al Gore''s Daddy fought like a wild man to block it.

The Democrat Party was in such a mess with all their centurist and right leaning leadership dead and a drunk in the White House who was sending our boys off to be cannon fodder that by 1968 the communist wing of the party took complete control and has ruled ever since.

But, make no mistake, it took Jimah Carter and the death of many, many old "Yellow Dogs" to wrestle the south away from the Democrat Party.
