Clinton's Open Letter To Obama
In an open letter to her Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton asks Barack Obama to help her "arrive at a solution that honors the votes of the millions of people who went to the polls in Florida and Michigan."
After Tuesday's results in North Carolina and Indiana have led many pundits to declare the Democratic race all but over, the Clinton campaign has revved up its effort to get counted the disqualified results of the Michigan and Florida primaries.
Clinton writes that finding a resolution to the Michigan and Florida issue "could be the difference between winning and losing in November" and that "our commitment to the voters of these states must be clearly stated and your support for a fair and quick resolution must be clearly demonstrated."

Dear Senator Obama,
This has been an historic and exciting campaign. Millions of new voters have been brought into the process and their enthusiasm for the Democratic Party and the principles for which you and I have fought and continue to fight is unprecedented.
One of the foremost principles of our party is that citizens be allowed to vote and that those votes be counted. That principle is not currently being applied to the nearly 2.5 million people who voted in primaries in Florida and Michigan. Whoever emerges as the Democratic nominee will be hamstrung in the general election if a fair and quick resolution is not reached that ensures that the voices of these voters are heard. Our commitment now to this goal could be the difference between winning and losing in November.
I have consistently said that the votes cast in Florida and Michigan in January should be counted. We cannot ignore the fact that the people in those states took the time to be a part of this process and to make their preferences known. When efforts were untaken by leaders in those states to hold revotes to ensure that they had a voice in selecting our nominee, I supported those efforts. In Michigan, I supported a legislative effort to hold a revote that the Democratic National Committee said was in complete compliance with the party's rules. You did not support those efforts and your supporters in Michigan publically opposed them. In Florida a number of revote options were proposed. I am not aware of any that you supported. In 2000, the Republicans won an election by successfully opposing a fair counting of votes in Florida. As Democrats, we must reject any proposals that would do the same.
Your commitment to the voters of these states must be clearly stated and your support for a fair and quick resolution must be clearly demonstrated.
I am asking you to join me in working with representatives from Florida and Michigan and the Democratic National Committee to arrive at a solution that honors the votes of the millions of people who went to the polls in Florida and Michigan. It is not enough to simply seat their representatives at the convention in Denver. The people of these great states, like the people who have voted and are to vote in other states, must have a voice in selecting our party's nominee.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton

See all 24 CommentsIf Obama is the Democratic nominee, we will rightfully be called the Party of Hypocrisy
Keep your eyes on the LORD and take them off of man, cursed is the man that puts there trust in man.
This goes to show why she is unfit to be President.
$15 million in debt and she claims to have passed the Steward of the Economy test.
But Hillary made LOANS to her campaign and now she will want that money repaid so all you Hillary Supporters like RowdyTexan, you better increase your donations to Hillarys campaign (or should it now be called the Hillary Loan Repayment Fund)
But please remember Hillary will get ALL her money back, because its a LOAN; you however will only have your memories and a smaller bank balance.
Hillary relies on suckers like you to GIVE your money, while she cleverly LOANS hers.
When this is over she will have a bath in 100 dollar bills because all her 110 million dollar fortune is still there ! But don%u2019t worry she will be thinking of you and your kind donations !
Like hell it is.
They are making new rules day by day to get OBAMA elected.
The chants with the same slogans.
For the party, of the party and by the party.
A revote is the only acceptable alternative to 2.5 million voters if they don''t accept the results in Jan.
But I can be rest sured that the chicken OBAMA will duck this one again.
According to Lou Dobbs Tonight the news has a favorable bias towards Obama and against Senator Clinton. Here are the statistics from his web site.
Lou Dobbs Tonight - Quick Vote
Lou Dobbs had a quick vote on his show tonight and the results were as follows:
Do you believe there is a media bias against Hillary Clinton and in favor of Barack Obama?
Yes 72% 13161
No 28% 5013
Total Votes: 18174
My community wants a Democrat to win the White House. There are just too many issues about Senator Obama that would be raised by the Republicans that he would never be able to defend or withstand.
If Obama is the nominee, not Senator Clinton, Democrats will not win the White House.

The Democratic party , of which you claim to be Queen, has RULES. Play By Them , once in your life think about AMERICA as more than a paycheck.

Way to go Hillary! When are you going to have congress vote on the federal gas tax holiday for the Summer?
We haven''t heard anymore about it since you campaigned in Indiana. There you go again. You didn''t forget about us blue collar & low income workers again have you?
Don''t be afraid you can do it. You don''t need those big oil contributions do you? Say it isn''t so! We''ve been here for you now where are you when we need you?

Oh please! The woman has the tenacity of a pitbull. Poor little Hillary....NOT. I doubt that she was forced to agree to anything. Look how she''s dug her heels in with her refusal to accept the demise of her campaign. And besides, the DEMOCRATIC PARTY made these rules and all of the front contenders agreed. I''ll tell you why she didn''t oppose it. No one expected Barack Obama to come from behind like he did. Hillary was practically guaranteed the nomination from the beginning. No one really expected there to be any other serious contender, and when she woke up, it was too late.

Then why would she agree to having the votes NOT count?? Please tell me this! When I agree to do something, I do it even if it costs me. I sell on eBay and I quoted a shipping price to a customer. When it came time to ship, it cost a LOT more than I had said. Did I go back to the buyer and say "Sorry, I know I agreed to this amount, but now I need more?" NO!!! I ate the cost because I am a woman of my word. Of COURSE Hillary wants the votes to count now that she is losing. But if she had integrity, she wouldn''t even think of going back on an agreement that she, herself signed. Apparently you and your candidate don''t think changing the rules in mid-game is a big deal. I liked Bill Clinton also, but when he lied under oath I thought it was a dirty shame. People make mistakes, but the Clintons won''t admit theirs unless they are caught red-handed in the lie (which has happened too many times for it to be anything other than willfull and deliberate).
Mrs Clinton- would she write the same letter had Mr Obama won those two states? Or, would she accept the rules to be changed in the middle of the game if Obama asked to so that it''''d be in his favor?
----------
No. And NO, OF COURSE NOT!!!
Did you expect HONESTY and FAIR PLAY from the Evil Queen???
