McCain Repeats He Won't Be Discussing Rev. Wright on the Trail

(CBS)
From CBS News' Dante Higgins:

PHOENIX -- John McCain said today that Hispanic voters are tailor-made for the Republican message and he also vowed not to make Rev. Jeremiah Wright an issue in his campaign, though he added he won't be the referee for others who choose to.

"I have said that in my own campaign we will not be discussing it," he said referring to Barack Obama's pastor, Rev. Wright. "But it will be a discussion Senator Obama will have with the American people.

McCain did say, however, that he thought Wright's comments were "outrageous".

He added that he will ask all Republicans to run respectful campaigns but he won't referee which ads should be released by others, referring to various state races that have used the Obama/Wright issue in ads.

"There are many Democratic organizations that are attacking me in a broad variety of ways, I have not seen Senator Obama or Senator Clinton repudiate those attacks."

McCain also announced the Spanish section of his website in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

"Everything about our Hispanic voters is tailor-made for the Republican message. I am confident that I will do very well. I'll have to work at it," he said.

McCain admitted that the tenor of the immigration debate may have hurt the image of the Republican party among Hispanics but he boasted getting 70 percent of the Hispanic vote in his re-election, claiming he understands issues in the community.

"Most Hispanics want our borders secure," he said. "They also worry about the people who are here illegally, their treatment, their conditions, the exploitation of people who don't have any of protections of our citizens."

We should toss the First Amendment and start checking the political correctness of all sermons made by Pastors, Clerics, Priests and Rabbis. Then go after their flock. This is a dark path, my friends. Worse than McCarthyism. If we all had to leave the church out of fear about what was preached, no one would go. I don''t even understand many sermons, let along agree with them. In this case McCain is right about Wright. Hillary is Evil.

Common people that vote republican and are following the radical Rush Limbaugh in effort to disrupt the Democratic Presidential Primary Election are dishonest, subversive, and immoral.

Everyone that has voted (twice) for George W. Bush and Richard Cheney share in the many corrupted, greedy, and debauched actions they%u2019ve taken including the over 100,000 deaths of Iraqi citizens.
Every Republican Voter has blood on their hands in regards to Iraq and they should be held responsible for the high gasoline prices caused by their occupation of Iraq.

America has been turned into OPERATION CHAOS by Republican Voters.

Why should McCain mention it? He has surrogates to do that for him, and you guys to praise him for distancing himself from his smears.

Wright is an issue. Ayers is an issue. Pandering to the left is an issue. Hillary lying is an issue. Obama''s lack of experience is an issue. What the hell is McCain thinking? If he thinks he is going to nice his way into the White House, he is a fool and doesn''t deserve it. I just heard on the news, that he intends to "implement" border security ....tehn try for amnesty again. What a f*ck up. What the hell has happen to American politics? The person, from any party, who secures the border and stops illlegal immigration gets my vote. But none, repeat, none of them have the courage to do it.

Here are Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell explaining to us all how 9-11 was what we deserved. It was in part %u2013 God%u2019s retribution against Feminists and the ACLU. (God is apparently against equal pay for equal work.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-CAcdta_8I&NR=1

Here is Pat Robertson calling for the assassination of the elected leader of Venuzuela %u2013 you can elect who you want %u2013 but if we don%u2019t like %u2018em we kill %u2018em.

John Hagee is a Texas Megachurch minister whose endorsement McCain actively sought. Here he explains about how the Catholic Church %u2013 %u201CThe Great ***%u201D %u2013 drinks the blood of the jews. Apparently McCain did not bring this up during recent Papal visit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uViQ0hVV57Q

Rod Parsley, the man McCain calls a spiritual advisor, compares Planned Parenthood to the Nazis Some Jewish folks might beg to differ..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw8-9AGGsQw

And Parsley explains how America was founded in part %u2013 to defeat Islam. Apparently Puritans didn%u2019t get that memo.

Did you see that more than 230 economist have released a letter opposing the silly gas tax holiday? It will be interesting to see how Lady McClinton responds, if at all? She doesn''t exactly have a history of being willing to listen to others when they disagree with one of her positions, so she''ll most likely ignore their input, as she would as CEO. McCain appears to have had the good sense to let it drop, but then he likes to position himself on both sides of every issue.

I think everybody including the candidates can and should have an opinion about the comments Rev. Wright has made. The only conversation that should be discussed about Barack''s relationship with this crazy uncle is one of JUDGMENT. Barack continues to emphasize that he has better judgment than McCain and Clinton because he was opposed to the Iraq war. As I recall, he said a few months after the war began that he may have been wrong when it seemed that our military might was working effectively. I also believe he said that since he wasn''t in the US Senate at the time and his vote didn''t count, he couldn''t be sure if he would have voted the same. So where was his judgment when he decided to do business with Rezko. Where was his judgment when he sat in the pew for 20 years? Where was his judgment when he sat the board with a known terrorist. I would hardly say that Barack has any better judgment than the other two. If I was running a campaign I would focus on judgment since Barack loves to compare his decision to the other two candidates. Discussing any personal relationship with his mentor/pastor should cease since that is really none of our business.

No, he won''t mention it, but he will make dang sure his surrogate do. I guess we have already seen what kind of power he would wield if President. He claims he asked the North Carolina Republican Party to stop running the smear ad about Obama and Wright. They thumbed their noses at him. Of course he made sure the media had a copy of the request to be certain that they looked into it and gave the ad plenty of free media time. The man''s an out of touch joke, but as we have seen from BUSH, many Republicans aren''t fussy about who they vote for.
