McCain: Obama "Out of Touch"

(CBS)
From CBS News' Dante Higgins:

John McCain says Barack Obama is “truly out of touch” and suggests he should apologize for his remarks about small-town Americans.

After breaking his silence on Barack Obama’s remarks about small town Americans this morning, McCain continues to go after his rival for not repudiating his comments.

“I think it may be defining [for Obama] because it shows a fundamental attitude about the heartland of America,” McCain said to reporters on his campaign plane this evening. “I think it's pretty important. And the fact that he continues to say that he does not apologize for those remarks, I think indicates a certain out-of-touch elitism.”

“Small-town America is the heartland of America. They've provided some of our bravest and most successful you men and women. They know that they've been through tough times. And they know that the future of America is brighter and better ahead of us. They're not given to depression, and they don't shape their values about hunting or about their religion because they're unhappy about the economy. That shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the American people and he's truly out of touch,” he added.

While on the topic of Obama he got in a word about public financing saying he will take it for the general election if the Democratic nominee does. “I committed to it and I’m holding to that. Senator Obama should stick by his word. He apparently is not,” he said.

McCain ended by rolling his eyes in reference to Obama’s recent “Annie Oakley” criticism of Hillary Clinton. A reporter asked him what type of gun he was going to take duck hunting. “You know the six-shooter has always been, you know…,” he said as he rolled his eyes and walked away.

Obama spoke the truth. People all over America are angry and they are angry as hell. Every time I go to the gas pump, I get angry. More so when I hear about the profits of the big oil and gas companies. The gape between the haves and the have nots widen And, still they bring in more politicians to steal our money through loopholes and tax incentives. And, even after all that, the crooked and unethical business people and corporate seek bail outs and hand outs. Then, to add insult to injury, they send us poor folks $300.00 of our own money so they can steal it back
We are angry and angry as hell. Guns, religion, and MOLOTOV Cocktails Burn,Baby, Burn

Hmmm - love how Obama''s campaign is accused of shifting goal posts. It''s not his campaign that has repeatedly belittled states due to size or being red or blue or not starting with an A.

If Obama loses PA, it will be no surprise - he wasn''t expected to win there in the first place. If Clinton loses, it would be a horse of a different color.

Obama throws another gutterball and whiskey drinking Annie Oakley rides again.

Obama attended school in Indonesia until the age of ten and then went to a private academy in Honolulu. He didn''t experience life on the mainland until he went to college.

Obama has expressed contempt for church goers and hunters and life in small town America.

Most of Obama''s perceptions about life in America came from text books and elitist professors who have a strong dislike for America - and of course his wife Michelle and Jeremiah Wright.

Out of Touch is Hillary Clinton and John McCain. Neither of these people know what it is to have to struggle like the average American worker. They are just working this Obama comment to death in an effort to keep their comfy government jobs.

Obama has outspent Hillary 3-1 in PA, plus he has had 6 weeks to campaign. If he doesn''t win, he should leave the race. Any excuses for losing by the Obama campaign would just be another instance of them moving the goalposts, again.

WOW.... now McCain is talking about the great Americans during the Great Depression who were not bitter, they were resilient. That''s good because we will all get a chance to be resilient when we slip back into another DEPPRESSION. Now the they call it a recession trying to make you believe that It won''t hurt as much. The men and women who send their children to war to defend us, look upon our leaders to make the right choices. You can always try to fix a mistake to try to win a war by sending more troops, and when that is not enough, send more until you have no more....... Does anyone remember the DRAFT ? So now we have Obama who has hurt our feelings, because we know that we are helpless and walk our daily lives like sheep waiting for the slaughter.
I never trust someone like Clinton or McCain who have hundred of millions of dollars, and pretend they care about me.
I am not surprised that it has taken a black man to show us how much government has taken advantage of us.
