Huckabee's Actually Done Some Math of His Own

(CBS)
From CBS News' Joy Lin:

LYNCHBURG, VA. -- It may be miracles he’s espousing, but Mike Huckabee’s done a little math of his own. Even if he might not be able to attain 1,191 votes necessary to win, he’s banking on the possibility John McCain can’t either.

“If John McCain doesn’t get 1,191 delegates, this goes to the convention, all bets are off,” Huckabee told reporters. “And after the first ballot anybody can end up being the nominee.”

So what if Karl Rove went on CBS' Face the Nation saying it’s implausible that Huckabee will get the numbers necessary to win the nomination. Huckabee’s response: “Karl Rove has also maxed out personal contributions to John McCain … The fact the opposing team has their cheerleaders and band blowing songs against me hardly motivates me to quit. It only motivates me to play harder.”

For Huckabee, the game is not over.

“I’m really not very persuaded by the party officials and the party establishment who come out now and are saying 'Oh, well John McCain has 700 delegates, we oughta just quit,'” said Huckabee.

“When they wrote the rules, it said you had to have 1,191. So why did they write the rules for that game of play and now want to change the rules, that’s crazy. And so, you know, I’m playing by the rules that were written for me and I’m not trying to make them and I’m not trying to break them, so we’ll continue doing it.”

Referencing Hillary Clinton’s tearful moments in recent months, Huckabee said, “If I cried and whined every time someone ignored me in this, I’d quit a year ago. But you have to realize that in every stage of this, there’s yet to be a time when the pundits said, Huckabee’s the guy to pull this off…I’m enjoying it if no other reason than to just intimidate the daylights out of all the other people who feel like they have it figured out.”

Following what he called an “overwhelming” win in Kansas and “shocking” victory in Louisiana, Huckabee said he felt “confident” going into Virginia.

"When [your opponents] really don’t think you have a chance, they ignore you. When they say bad things about you, they fear you. So the fact that I’m being asked to leave and all these things are being said, it’s an extraordinary honor. I don’t necessarily enjoy it, but I sure appreciate it."

How can Huckabee say he is ''ALWAYS on the side of life''? I guess he''s not counting the 16 executions he signed off on during his tenure as Governor.(the most by any Gov. in the state''s past)
Some may argue that that was the law he had sworn to uphold, yet if that''s the case and he has no argument when it''s ''THE LAW'', then he should respect the right of choice - because it''s THE LAW.

Mike Huckabee is a the only authentic conservative in the race for President of the United States of America. The media and the so-called experts have dismissed him time and time again. He coninues to surprise people. I find it outrageous and offensive that we are being told who the GOP nominee will be. Every state deserves to have an opportunity to vote! We still are in the U.S.A. right? If you are still undecided www.mikehuckabee.com is very informative. I have a blog of my own (pe4mh@blogspot.com).

The Sham Hannity''s and Boss Tweeds(Rush)of this world eat at Ruth Chris steak house and plan how they can maintain the status quo. They better fill up cause their days are numbered! "We the People" are sittin at our kitchen tables plannin how to take back this country for the common folk.Fat cat politicians, the RNC elites and the radio and TV propaganda Hacks and Schills will soon have a cold dose of reality when Mike Huckabee assumes leadership of this great nation. He is the only man who can provide the "common sense" leadership this country so desperately needs! The days of "business as usual" will fade as the transparency of honesty, truth, justice and freedom will lead us into a new era of prosperity and righteousness! I Like Mike!!!

This is amazing.

You know where media conspiracies come from? They come from the fact that a one-inch dimple peeking over Hillary''s V-neck gets more media attention than the fact that Washington stopped counting the votes when it became clear Huckabee won Washington. You''d think that would set off some investigative journalists radar somewhere. At the very least, voters who think McCain will clean up some of the corruption in his own party might want to know what the champion of campaign finance reform thinks of this being done in his name.

Sure, CBS didn''t do the cleavage story, but they''ve done falling flagpoles, choking on water, shrieks and complained about the food Romney fed them. It says something that clear electioneering doesn''t get reporters "salivating", as this blog put it, as much as getting ahold of Hillary documents she''s not required to release because of an order Bush enacted to prevent from releasing his for years without complaint (and still hasn''t, btw).

Huckabee supporters might conclude it''s anti-Christian. Libs that you''re in bed with the GOP. It smells either way.

Go Huckabee! He understands the true premise of winning---actually being there and persevering. We''re constantly being taught to try, try again and yet when there''s the least little obstactle politicians want to bail. Huckabee is showing himself to be a real person---not a POLITICIAN! That''s his appeal. He''s really one of us.

The Limbaughs and the Hannitys use the words "true conservative" when what they mean is the protection of policies that make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Capitalism is great when it is tempered with conscience. Without it, it leads to civil disorder. Mike Huckabee understands all that. The low IQ ranters called media pundits do not.

Mike Huckabee is the only remaining candidate who is not a current member of congress. Why would we want to elect someone from the legislative body of our government that has a very low approval rating? Mike Huckabee has experience and success running a government. We need to wake up and get behind this man of vision and leadership.

How would like that every drug deal or illegal activity in the United States to be taxed! All Illegal%u2019s will pay taxes day one! All foreigners who spend money in United States will pay for our Medicare, social security, medical benefits, and to support our defense instead of taxing our income. An influx of companies will return home base to United States and when you pick up a product from Wal-Mart it will again say made in USA.
"In god we trust" won%u2019t be changed to "America goes to the dust". Mike Huckabee won%u2019t let Iran send a nuke through your bedroom window in the next five years like the liberal pacifists. You couldn%u2019t ignore the Nazi%u2019s and you can not ignore Islamic fascism intent on destroying our lives. Grow up people die in this world and people are gathering in dark places that don%u2019t want you to breath. Vote for a Pastor that carries a big stick that%u2019s Mike Huckabee!

It is so sad that the Sean Hannitys of this world are whining that we do not have a true Conservative in this race. Duh! Mike Huckabee is right underneath their nose, he is the only Conservative in this race. First, they shoved Mitt "Flip flop" Romney down our throat, now it is saying that John McCain is the nominee so we must unite behind him. This is far from the truth. Mike Huckabee cn win the nomination, if nothing else keeping McCain from getting the 1,191 needed to get the nomination, thus throwing it into a Brokered Convention. With Mike Huckabee''s exceptional speaking ability to plead his case before the delegates to vote for him as the nominee. I am so thankful we have Mike Huckabee running for President standing firm on his principles no matter what. There is a choice not to just settle for John McCain there is Mike Huckabee that will shut down the IRS and put the Fair Tax into law. I believe in miracles, afterall I am a cancer survivor and that is a miracle to me! Mike Huckabee is who I voted for in LA!

Compare Mr. HUCKABEE, who has GOVERNED with common-sense ideas ( http://snipurl.com/govhealthfairtax ) to Mr. MCCAIN ( http://snipr.com/straighttalk ) and it''s clear that McCain is an "old boy" member of THE SENATE CLUB who has essentially done little preserve the voice of the working American.

Compare Huckabee''s visionary FAIRTAX ( http://snipr.com/nextrung ) to McCain''s interest in the current tax system - IRS-oppressive to wage-earning families ( http://snipurl.com/irsmisconduct ) - it''s pretty easy to see who will lead us OUT of TAX SLAVERY ( http://snipr.com/taxburden ) - $265 billion annual tax code compliance costs representing 5 billion wasted hours, annually.

Mike Huckabee is the best! They have tried to tell us from day one that Huck cannot win this.

Well Huckabee is the scrappiest, most energetic, intelligent and commanding person to ever run against the establishment.

We can win this and we will win this.

I say to the Republican party leaders, stop the negativity towards Huckabee and allow him his fair shot.

If the republican party doesn''t knock off their games, the Republican party may not exist when this is all over.

I will vote for Mike Huckabee no matter what he runs for. We choose Mike Huckabee for America.

John McCain is a war hero, but he will not pass the health exam required to be the President.

John McCain would be the oldest president if elected in US history.

John McCain is not a true conservative. He is against the 1996 Federal Family act, human cloning and wants to keep the borders open.

Mike Huckabee was the first candidate in the Republican primary Dr. James Dobson ever endorsed. Huckabee is the true conservative candidate.

In 2006 the Republican''s got hammered and lost both the House and Senate because of the "My way or the Highway" stance on the Iraq war. How can John McCain win the general election with the same type of philosophy to stay there 100 years? He will absolutely lose in the general election.

If you are a Republican and you want to keep the Republican base leading, you must seriously considering voting for Mike Huckabee. He has the stamina, desire, intelligence, wit, charisma, experience and honesty to lead this nation at this point in our history.

Vote for Mike Huckabee!!

I think someone in the Republican Party saw what was happening Saturday and said "Oh #%&*","Huckabee is going to sweep the elections tonight!""We cant let this happen!"
That person made a phone call and they stopped counting the ballots. Then when they sorted through the votes they found enough to put McCain slightly ahead. They stopped the count at 87% and called the election for McCain! I bet that most of the missing 13% are Huckabee and Paul votes.

Mike Huckabee is a true inspiration as a leader with consistent values and his tenacity is invigorating in a way that no other candidate has been able to immulate, not even the democrats. This is the man who can take the Republicans to a win in November. I believe in miracles....Go Mike...

How funny is it to watch all of the conservative elites race to John %u201CMcCain-nedy%u201D for a seat at his Presidential table? First the GOP shoved liberal conservative H. Bush down our throats just to watch him to lose the White House. Then they shoved moderate constrictive W. Bush down our throats and he spent us into the poor house. Now they are shoving a liberal conservative down our throats again, John McCain, who must persuade the conservative base to fall in line with him for no reason. What a Joke! The Republican Party will not receive another dime from me or my support. The conservative elites think their base is as liberal as they are.

The liberal and conservative elites could not care less what their base thinks!

Here is the TRUTH.

The establishment, talking heads, political pundits, and the opposition all attacked Mike Huckabee with half-truths, innuendos, and often outright falsehoods.

Worse yet, those who simply function as trained parrots and further spread the smear tactics of the politics of destruction are shameful.

Here''s the TRUTH.

Mike Huckabee is and always has been a TRUE Reagan Conservative. In fact, if you actually take the time to LOOK at his REAL record one could make a fairly strong case that he is actually MORE conservative than even Ronald Reagan.

But I guess it is easier to participate blindly in the Clintonesque politics of personal destruction than to actually do the research OURSELVES sometimes.

Don''t be sucked in with the negative smear campaigns. Rise above it all.

Learn the TRUTH.

I don''t want McCain as the nominee of my party, and I sure as blaze don''t want him for the leader of my country!
I am so grateful that Huckabee has the backbone to take this to whatever level it needs to be taken to for conservative values, principles and ideals to be upheld. That puts it back into the hands of the conservative voter.
I am fed UP with being told to calm-down, called a right wing fanatic, being labeled with psychobabbled labels, etc., simply because I won''t take marching orders from a party that seems to have lost it''s compass. (i.e., I won''t be told I have to vote for somebody I am diabolically opposed to... and... if I don''t, I am responsible for the outcome.)
For the first time since I cast my first vote in 1972, I''m not sure I will be able to cast a vote for a President. That stinks.
I am tired of hearing negative remarks about Huckabee being a pastor; like we need anymore trial lawyers on "the" hill.
SO, thanks... hat''s off... applause... to Huckabee for standing in the gap for "we the people of the Republican party."
