Hey Bloggers, It's OK To Correct The Record

A good many bloggers had no problems theorizing about the intentions, motivations and connections of Joel Hinrichs in the days after he blew himself up outside of a University of Oklahoma football game. But they have been strangely silent since FBI documents relating to the incident were made public last week. The young man was clearly troubled and had a dangerous fondness for explosives, but the evidence doesn’t appear to go beyond that.

It may seem anti-climactic given all the talk about a possible connection between Hinrichs and terrorism, but those who engaged in that discussion should acknowledge this. After all, isn’t it just that accountability they demand of the MSM?

Sure, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

The event was doubly sad, not only for the young man and his family, but also in the realization that anyone temporarily unbalanced enough to go "postal" has a new weapon in the arsenal of insanity. Our congress, in its craven insensibility, already has made it clear even assault weapons are OK to circulate among us-- bringing the carnage home after exporting so much abroad (US is the world's leading arms exporter-- it's good business). And if you want a measure of the mental health of a country, look at the kids. Lately our anti-achievers have reached new lows. Recent headlines showed three teen faces-- a girl of 14, who placidly stood by while her boyfriend, 18, murdered her parents, and a young man who calmly walked down a suburban mall, shooting at anybody as though it were a video game. He probably thought it was not that removed from the "real thing" on his computer.
