Verizon Expands Services to NASA

Already the leading provider of network and VOIP services to NASA FierceVoIP reports that Verizon was awarded a contract to provide teleconferencing services. The contract was procured through the GSA's Networx Universal contract and could be worth over $100 million if all options are exercised. The GSA contract runs through 2017 so Verizon could conceivably provide NASA service until that date. NASA has facilities located all over the U.S. and Verizon Business will link them together. Some contractor sites will also be included. Over the last thirty years IT and data service contracts have grown to be a significant part of Federal contracting.
