Maryland Invests in Improving Tax Collections with Team Led by Accenture

The State of Maryland Board of Public Works awarded a team led by Accenture an $87 million contract to upgrade the tax collection system. The goal as reported at WashingtonTechnology.com is to improve tax collections such that the initial investment in the new system will be made up in three years. The team includes SAP, Teradata and some local Maryland small businesses. The program will improve the state's ability to identify and collect revenue. It will also make the taxpayer's web based experience better and speed refunds when necessary.
