Stand Off With Wylie Man Ends With Peaceful Surrender

WYLIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Some tense moments in Wylie where a neighborhood was evacuated because of a man with a rifle.

Police say a man had an argument with his teenage daughter and became violent.

Officers were called and the man barricaded himself inside with a rifle when his daughter ran out.

Surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution.

A SWAT team threw a phone inside to talk to the unidentified 43-year-old man.

After a few hours, he surrendered peacefully and nearby residents were allowed back in their homes.
