Wrong-Way Driver Killed In Mesquite Crash

MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) -- A wrong-way vehicle hit a median on Interstate 30 early Wednesday morning, killing the 36-year-old driver.

The driver has bee identified as Vanessa Gail Espinoza of Dallas.

Police received multiple calls around 3:10 a.m. reporting a vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lanes near Big Town Boulevard. As officers responded, a caller reported a crash in the 1300 block of I-30 near Galloway Avenue.

The investigation revealed that Espinoza, driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla, died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation. This is the 4th fatality crash in Mesquite this year.
