Worker Killed In Fall At Construction Site In Dallas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- The City of Dallas has confirmed a fatality accident occurred Thursday morning at the Maple District Lofts, an apartment building still under construction.

Emergency workers say a worker fell from a "higher floor" of the four-floor building located at 5415 Maple Avenue. Emergency personnel responded at 7:24 a.m. and found the deceased individual.

Other workers showed up at the site Thursday morning and were told that work had been suspended for the day.

Construction managers on site would not provide details on the accident.

The building, which is located near Parkland Hospital, is described as a "luxury apartment community." Many of the building's units are already occupied.
