THE COLONY (CBS11) - The Colony Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly broke into a young woman's bedroom. She awoke to find him crouched by her bed early Wednesday morning. The victim's friend who also lives in the house was staying with her boyfriend and received text messages that morning.

"She had texted me around 5:30," said Kasandra Alvarez. "She said somebody had broken into the house.

"She told me that this man was literally in her room while she was sleeping."

The victim's housemate says the intruder cut the window screen and made a bold and stealthy entrance into the room where her friend was sleeping.

"He had the time to open the window all the way up with the blinds all the way up and go into the room," Alvarez said.

"He was right here," Alvarez said as she knelt on a knee at to the side of the foot of her friend's bed.

She put a hand on her thigh saying, "His phone was right here. I'm pretty sure it was an iPhone. He had his flash on facing this way so he could see and not flash everything. And basically was just doddling with something."

"So Rachel leaned over and said '(Expletive) what are you doing?' He straight up jumped out the window. Just rolled it out and left. He left one thing. An e-cig. A pink and white one."

Police are looking for a white man, 5' 5" to 5' 8" tall with shoulder length brown hair.

The Colony Police are reminding people in the area to stay alert and check all their locks.

"Just like you don't leave possessions unlocked in the car, don't leave yourself and possessions unlocked in your house," said Sgt. Jay Goodson of The Colony Police Department. "Make sure your garage doors are closed. You and make sure your windows are closed and locked. It's one thing being closed it's another thing being locked."
