Woman Dies From Flesh-Eating Bacteria Contracted During Harvey Floods

HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A 77-year-old woman died from flesh-eating bacteria she contracted during the Hurricane Harvey flooding, according to Houston officials.

Nancy Reed of Kingwood is Harris County's 36th fatality blamed on Harvey.

Authorities say Reed apparently suffered a traumatic injury when she fell in her home, and that she was infected by the flesh-eating bacteria.

She died on September 15th.
