WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (AP) -- A waterpark resort chain based in Wisconsin plans to build a $250 million resort in Texas.

Todd Nelson, owner of Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the Wisconsin Dells area, announced plans for the 350-acre project in the Austin suburb of Round Rock on Wednesday.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports that the project would include nearly 1,000 rooms, a 150,000-square-foot convention center, entertainment center, spa, restaurants and indoor and outdoor waterparks.

It will be Kalahari's first venture into a region where there are many outdoor waterparks and few indoor waterparks.

Kalahari also has locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
