Winter Storm Warning Issued In North Texas

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) -- The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a winter storm warning for freezing rain, sleet and snow.

The warning begins at 3 p.m. Wednesday and runs until noon Thursday for the following counties: Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta, Hopkins, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman, Van Zandt, Rains, Eastland, Erath, Hood, Somervell, Johnson, Ellis, Comanche, Mills, Hamilton, Bosque, Hill.

The storm could bring up to 1/4-inch of ice, with up to 3-inches of sleet and snow possible.

Temperatures could fall below freezing late Wednesday afternoon to early evening, with lows in the mid-to-upper 20s Wednesday night.

The NWS expects hazardous travel conditions beginning Wednesday evening and continuing through Thursday morning.
