DES MOINES (CBSDFW.COM) - Next week former Texas State Senator and candidate for governor Wendy Davis will campaign for Hillary Clinton in Iowa.

In 2013, then-State Senator Davis garnered national media attention for performing a 11-hour filibuster to block Senate Bill 5, a sweeping pro-life bill that sought to impose what pro-choice supporters call unnecessary and burdensome requirements on women's health providers.

Davis announced her endorsement of Clinton in September.

Over two days, December 17 and 18, Davis will attend seven grassroots organizing events to talk about Clinton's commitment to protecting women's access to health care and defending Planned Parenthood from Republican's attacks.
