Vacant Forest Hill Bar Destroyed By Fire

FOREST HILL (CBSDFW.COM) -- A vacant bar in Forest Hill was destroyed by fire early Monday morning.

The bar, located in the 5300 block of Mansfield Highway just north of I-20, has been vacant for about three months.

Firefighters arrived on scene to heavy smoke and shooting flames. Crews are aggressively battling the fire, taking proper precautions to prevent the fire from spreading to a neighboring gas station.

"Everything was fine. My kids are okay," said a man staying at a neighboring motel. "But I looked out the window and it was just in flames, like crazy."

There have been no reports of injuries or any indication as to what might have caused the fire.

Mansfield Highway has been shutdown for safety reasons.
