UNT Knocks Off UAB 67-64

DENTON (AP) - Jordan Williams' three-point play followed by baskets from DeAndre Harris and T.J. Taylor gave North Texas seven unanswered points and a 67-64 upset victory over UAB on Thursday night, dropping the Blazers' out of a first-place tie in Conference USA.

UAB (13-12, 9-3) fell behind Louisiana Tech (10-2) and Western Kentucky (9-2). The Mean Green (10-13, 4-7) also topped Louisiana Tech on Jan. 22.

After Williams' layup and free throw, Harris made a steal and layup for a 64-62 lead. Colin Voss blocked a shot on the other end and Taylor scored. After a UAB free throw, Voss added a final free throw.

Six consecutive free throws by Hakeem Baxter had given UAB a 62-59 lead.

Williams had 14 points and 10 rebounds for his eighth career double-double. Voss added 14 points.

UAB's William Lee had 13 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double. Baxter added 13 points.
