DENTON (AP) - Seth Littrell plans to have the same kind of high-powered offense at North Texas that he did at his other coaching stops. He wants to spread it out and score a lot of points.

Littrell was formally introduced as the Mean Green's new coach Monday, two days after calling plays for No. 10 North Carolina in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game against No. 1 Clemson. The Tar Heels have one of the nation's top offenses.

The 37-year-old Littrell got a five-year contract. He's now one of nation's youngest head coaches.

North Texas is coming off a 1-11 season. Coach Dan McCarney was fired after an 0-5 start.

Littrell says the recruiting base in Texas is second to none, and that's immediately where he will start.
