DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Dallas police say a fully uniformed officer on foot was side-swiped by a pickup truck and injured while working an off-duty job.

Police said a truck came toward the officer in a parking lot in the 2700 block of McKinney Avenue around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. The officer tried to stop the truck and get out of its path, but the truck hit the officer and kept going, according to the department.

The officer was taken to Baylor Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

The investigation is ongoing.
