BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Chris Cokley and Robert Brown each scored 16 points to help lead UAB to an easy 78-57 win over North Texas on Saturday night.

The win gives the Blazers a school record 14 consecutive wins, including seven straight in Conference USA to maintain a one game lead over Middle Tennessee and Marshall.

Denzell Watts finished with 11 points and Nick Norton had 8 points and seven assists for the Blazers (17-3, 7-0).

North Texas led 35-33 at the break but Cokley hit a jumper on the first possession of the second half that led to a 13-4 run to give the Blazers a 46-39 lead.

UAB never trailed the rest of the night, and a Dirk Williams layup with 7:39 left sparked a 14-2 stretch to close the game out and push the final margin over 20.

Jeremy Combs led North Texas (7-13, 2-5) with 19 points.
