Two injured after gunfire exchanged in Fort Worth parking lot, police say

Two people were shot and taken to the hospital on Friday after gunfire was exchanged in a parking lot near Selkirk Drive and Walden Avenue in Fort Worth, according to police.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. when multiple shots were fired between the occupants of a sedan and a pickup truck.

"During the exchange of gunfire, two people in the sedan were struck," Fort Worth police stated in a news release.

The driver of the pickup truck, a Texas Health Resources police officer in full uniform, was shot at but not struck, police said.

The two people shot in the sedan remain in stable condition at a local hospital, police added.

The Fort Worth Police Department's Major Case Unit is leading the investigation.
